Ataru Moroboshi

Utama

Male · Umur 17

A student at Tomobiki High School, Class 2-4, Ataru suffers from an incredible amount of bad luck, having been born on the unluckiest day of the Bhuddist calendar. He is very lecherous, stupid, and lazy. Though he often tries to escape from Lum and flirts with other women, he really does have feelings for her. Ataru's main goal in life is to live in the center of a harem composed of exotic and beautiful women (including Lum and most of her alien friends). His pick-up techniques would creep out most stalkers. Usually, he just walks up to a woman he's never met before and asks for her name, phone number, and address. Once he decides to go after a particular female, virtually no force on Earth (or from outer space) can stop him. He refused to admit it but, deep down, he proved in the later episodes that it was Lum that he truly loved.

Toshio Furukawa

Lum

Utama

Female

Lum is a beautiful Oni alien who is capable of flying and generating electrical shocks. She is extremely popular and is famous for ending her sentences with datcha (loosely translated as "yes?" or "you know?"). Except when in her school girl's uniform, she usually wears a sexy outfit consisting of a tiger-striped bikini and knee-high go-go boots. While generally good-natured, sweet, and innocent, Lum also has a very hot temper. Her dream in life is to live in a "Sweet Home with Darling" in which she keeps house and raises babies while Ataru works. Unfortunately, Lum's idea of "cooking" is to take very spicy ingredients like jalapenos, cayenne peppers, and Tabasco sauce and irradiate them with an alien energy bazooka until they carbonize into inedible, crystallized nuggets. As an alien she has access to many bizarre gadgets whose use she really doesn't understand all that well, leading to comedic results. Differences between human and "Invader" physiology also drive many stories, like the time Lum's horns begin to grow larger after she is bitten by a cow, or the time she becomes drunk by eating pickled plums.

Fumi Hirano

Ranma Saotome

Pendukung

Male · Umur 16

Training with Genma at Jusenkyou in China, Ranma was thrown into a spring called Nyanniichuan. He emerged as a young girl, according with the spring's curse. When splashed with hot water, he changes back to a boy, but when splashed with cold to room temperature water, he turns into a girl again. As for our well-built 16-year-old hero/heroine, the martial arts is his life. He also possesses a rather large and easily wounded ego, believing his physical strength to be his only virtue. Whenever his pride is damaged, Ranma feels the need to rectify the situation, even when it's not necessarily in his best interest to do so.

Megumi Hayashibara

Kagome Higurashi

Pendukung

Female · Umur 15

Height: 157.5 cm (5'1") The female protagonist and a third year middle school student. In the tradition of many Rumiko Takahashi heroines (Lum, Akane Tendo, Kyoko Otonashi), Kagome can be extremely sweet, but can also become very dangerous when provoked. InuYasha wears a special bead necklace (known as the Beads of Subjugation) which only responds to Kagome's command: when she yells "Sit!" ("Osuwari!") (Often "Sit, boy!" in the dub) InuYasha is thrown to the ground. The necklace was placed upon him due to his dangerous attitude when he was unsealed. As the series continues, Kagome uses the necklace less and less. It is scarcely used by this point in time, and is purely comedic relief when it is. As fate would have it, Kagome also develops feelings of strong love for InuYasha. This relationship proves to be a driving point of the series. In the series, Kagome becomes a powerful miko (not really a miko).

Satsuki Yukino

Ryuunosuke Fujinami

Pendukung

Female

A transfer student at Tomobiki High School, Class 2-4. She is a girl, but because her father says the successor to the Hamachaya must be a man, he raises Ryuunosuke as a boy and insists that she is one. Because her eccentric father has raised her as a boy in order to run the Hamachaya, she behaves a lot like one and is quite violent. However, since she is in fact a girl, she hates being treated like a boy. She would love nothing more than to let her feminine side show, but her father interferes in every attempt she makes. Her first love was her elementary school teacher, whom she later realizes was a woman. Only Ataru Moroboshi truly treats her like a woman, but she handles it the same way most girls handle Ataru: with a hard left hook, not that it ever stops him.

Mayumi Tanaka

Shuutarou Mendou

Pendukung

Male · Umur 17

Shuutaro Mendo is heir to the Mendou Zaibatsu with staggering wealth and its own private army. He commutes to school in a gigantic helicopter that is more like a flying mansion. Shuutaro carries a samurai sword which he often tries to use on Ataru (who has become expert at blocking it with his bare hands). Although very handsome he is just as stupid and lecherous as Ataru (just much more sophisticated in his approach). He takes his role as heir to the vast Mendou fortune extremely seriously. Mendou is vain, narcissistic, charming, overly dramatic, claustrophobic and afraid of the dark. He loves Lum, tolerating the presence of Ataru in order to be close to her. Shinobu is the closest thing he has to a girlfriend. (Source: Wikipedia)

Akira Kamiya

Shinobu Miyake

Pendukung

Female

Ataru's childhood friend and classmate. Until Lum showed up she was also Ataru’s girlfriend. She is a neat, clean, sweet, and petite young lady who can be viewed as the archetypically perfect Japanese female. Not long after Lum showed up Shinobu began to develop super-human strength. She like all female members of her class has a huge crush on Mendou. She is often part of a "foursome" consisting of Ataru, Lum, Shuutaro, and herself. (source:Wikipedia)

Saeko Shimazu

Ten

Pendukung

Male

Jariten, known to everyone as "Ten" is Lum's little cousin. Ten is a bratty and smart-mouthed alien toddler. Like all oni, Ten has powers of his own. He can fly and breathe fire. But he is an inexperienced child so his flying is awkward and slow, and his fire breathing isn't always effective. Ten is a child, but sure doesn't act his age. He has a certain level of adult intelligence which is quite shocking for someone still in diapers. One result of being precocious is that Ten only has eyes for older women. Yet Ten is still essentially a child and quite naive. Around women he is usually cute and diminutive. When he's near men he's his usual self. Loud, pesky and often aggressive. Ten came to earth to meet Lum's new husband Ataru but was disappointed at what he found. From the moment they've met, Ataru and Ten have been at each other's throats. Because Ataru is such an idiot, Ten doesn't think he deserves Lum. Therefore he decides to live with them to keep an eye on Ataru. (Source: Furinkan.com)

Kazuko Sugiyama

Sakuranbou

Pendukung

Sakura's wandering monk uncle. Cherry's real name is Sakuranbou, which literally means “cherry” in Japanese. But because the word's kanji can be read to mean "deranged monk," a phrase that is quite accurate in describing him, he prefers to be called by the English word. Cherry has amazing spiritual powers (or so he claims) and he often predicts doom for Ataru (no great feat). He has a habit of popping up out of nowhere, often from very strange places. His ugly face and very short stature are frequently used for comedic effect. Cherry has made a vow of asceticism, living in a tent in an empty lot not far from Ataru's house. However, this vow apparently doesn't apply to food, as he is an enormous mooch. Rei Hino of Sailor Moon's Grandpa looks a lot like Cherry. (Source: Wikipedia)

Ichirou Nagai

Oyuki

Pendukung

Female

Oyuki is the queen of Neptune, which in the series is a frozen, snowy planet populated entirely by women, as most of the men have to go off-planet to find work. As a child she used to hang out with Lum, Ran, and Benten when they were all in grade school. She is clearly patterned after the yuki-onna (literally "snow woman") of Japanese folklore. As such, she has the power to control and create ice, snow, and extreme cold. Typically dressed in a long, elegant kimono, Oyuki is soft-spoken, regal in demeanor and very slow to show anger. However, once roused to actually display her abilities she proves to be the most powerful character in the series. Because of the wrath she displays when angered, Oyuki is the only person in the entire galaxy that Ran genuinely fears.

Noriko Ohara

Ryouko Mendou

Pendukung

Female

The younger sister of Shuutaro, Ryoko is a spoiled girl whose only amusement seems to be the creation and execution of elaborate plans intended to drive her older brother mad. wikipedia

Mami Koyama

Benten

Pendukung

Female

Lum's childhood friend and most loyal friend in the Galaxy. Her character is named after Shichifukujin Benzaiten (one of the Seven Lucky Gods), the Shinto goddess of knowledge, art, and beauty. This Benten is a "space biker chick" who wears a plate-mail bikini, sports a "butch" hair style, tears around the sky on a flying alien chopper, curses like a longshoreman, and carries a high-tech bazooka. She's sassy, smart, and easy going. She's also has a good sense of humor and an even greater sense of honor. She's always willing to help Lum whenever she gets in a tight spot. (Source: Wikipedia)

Yuuko Iguchi

Sakura

Pendukung

Female

In Japanese "Sakura" means "cherry blossom." She was once a very sickly girl who suffered from a variety of ailments. Many of them were the result of spirits that infested her body. On the advice of her uncle Cherry, she tried to exorcise Ataru, during which process, the demons who inhabited her transferred themselves to the unlucky young man. The second time she attempts to exorcise him, one of the demons possessing Ataru causes him to pounce onto her and suck her breast. Now in perfect health, Sakura is the Tomobiki High school nurse and a Shinto priestess or miko. Unlike her mother (who looks exactly like Cherry), Sakura is tall, slender and physically attractive, which makes her a common target of the lecherous boys of the school and even Mr. Onsen-Mark. The boys have been known to purposely injure themselves in order to see her. Like her uncle, she possesses an enormous appetite and has been known, despite never seeming to gain an ounce, to out-eat him. Sakura is extremely powerful and can summon foul and baleful creatures from Japanese folklore, by virtue of her mystical training. (Source: Wikipedia)

Machiko Washio

Onsen-Mark

Pendukung

One of Ataru's teachers. A sad, middle-aged man, whose only interest is to teach at Tomobiki High, but fails due to the constant interruptions during class, when the classroom itself is not destroyed by Lum, Ten or Shinobu. His name means "Mark of the Hot Springs", and he usually wears a shirt with hot springs on it.

Kouchou-sensei

Tomomichi Nishimura

Ryuunosuke no Chichi

Pendukung

Male

Ryuunosuke's father, is just about the most obnoxious and loud father there has ever been. His personality can be described as unpredictable and intense. He thinks that it's a man's world and so in his mind, a girl wouldn't be strong enough to be the fourth Fujinami to run the teashop. So his relationship with Ryunosuke is more similar to that of a boxing coach and his prize fighter, rather than a father and daughter.

Rumiko Ukai

Kousuke Shirai

Pendukung

Kusuke is Ataru and Hokuto's best friend and the three of them are often seen causing trouble together. He has a girlfriend (who was willing to pose as "Shinobi Nobade" for him), and has received Valentine's Day chocolate from other girls, meaning he is somehow popular with girls. Like Shuutarou Mendou and the other male students, he is also in love with Lum and will try to prevent her from kissing Ataru, trying to protect her purity. In the later half of the series, he and Hokuto begin to become victims of the daily shenanigans. In the anime he only ever appears as a background character, and his roles are always given to either Megane or Perm.
