Soushi Minashiro

Utama

Male · Umur 14 · Gol. darah A

Height: 173 cm Soushi Minashiro is one of the children on Tatsumiya Island who knows the truth-- the world has been under invasion by an alien race called the Festum for the past three decades and Japan was destroyed 28 years ago. He is the son of Kouzou Minashiro, the commander of the secret military fortress Alvis, which is hidden in the bowels of the peaceful-seeming Tatsumiya Island. From a very young age, Soushi was bred to become the next commander of Alvis, so he has had a very isolated childhood carrying the heavy secret of the war and being told day in and day out that he must live only to protect the island. Ryou Masaoka

Utama

Male · Umur 15 · Gol. darah A

Height: 174 cm Weight: 52 kg Ryou Masaoka is the pilot of the Titan-model Fafner (TSX), an earlier Fafner model which puts the pilot life on the edge even when used for a time span of just fifteen minutes. At school, he's Kenji predecessor as the school council president. Very prone to getting sick, though he possesses a great strength of heart. A very amiable and caring person, he gives advices and comfort to many of his friends, saying that Kazuki should approach people more if he wants to befriend others, reassuring Shouko when she doubts about being her mother true chid, as well as Yumi in many occasions. He decides to volunteer for piloting, saying that he feels the need to do something before he dies, adding that even though he lives alone the island is so small and full of good friends he never felt lonely. When he decides to join Plan-L he's surprised to find Yumi aboard the ship, but she doesn't want to have anything to do with him for the time being. Ryou gets happy when he realizes that by piloting the Titan Model he can run for so much time without having to stop for catching breath or feeling chest-ache. But he has to decide whether to leave his dog, Puku, on the island, or poison him, because he can't bring it with him on the island-ship. Fortunately Karin agrees to take care of Puku, and Ryou can leave along with Yumi and the other pilots to lure away the Festum. Yumi decides to ask for a reduced scheduled time to pilot the Fafner models, but to no avail. Ryou decides to support her by saying to the commander in charge that Yumi's father didn't make this plan without thinking about the life of the whole crew, and ultimately resolves to make him accept their proposal. Yumi thanks Ryou for what he said in his speech, and starts getting along with him again. The discovery of an escape procedure when the plans end boosts again their hope to live, but before coming back to the island they must fulfill their last duty and stop the Festums from reaching Tatsumiya Island.

Kazuki Makabe

Pendukung

Male · Umur 14 · Gol. darah O

Height: 169 cm Like most of the children on Tatsumiya Island, Kazuki had no idea the earth was under invasion and strives throughout the series to understand why the adults hid this from him, and especially, why his estranged childhood friend Soushi is so willing to do whatever it takes to defend their humble island. He turns out to be an amazing fighter when he's unceremoniously tossed into the middle of a war he didn't know was raging, but fighting is never a thing of central importance to him. He turns out to be surprisingly kind and sincere, even if he rarely lets other people inside the walls he built around himself. Naturally, to someone with such a gentle nature, having to fight for his life constantly is a bewildering experience that causes him to question who he is and what he believes in. Living with only his father, Fumihiko, he does all the cooking and shopping and thus is an excellent chef. His mother, Akane, was assimilated by Festum long ago. He also seems to be very bad at card games as he's too honest to be good at bluffing. (Source: AnimeNfo, edited)

Makoto Ishii

Fumihiko Makabe

Pendukung

Male · Umur 40

Fumihiko Makabe becomes the new commander of Alvis in the second episode, when the previous commander dies. For such a strong and thoughtful man, he is surprisingly quiet and kind-hearted. Like all of his generation, he hates the Festum and once wanted an all-out war with them-- but fatherhood has been very good for him. He raises Kazuki alone, as his wife Akane was killed long ago protecting him from the Festum. Although Akane was a higher ranking officer than him (he took her last name upon their marriage ^^), he is also a seasoned soldier who has shed blood--both Festum and human--and always keeps it a priority to prevent the children from having to do the same. Fumihiko and Kazuki live in a small house that doubles as a ceramics workshop where Fumihiko makes traditional, Japanese clay pots to sell for a living. He hates having to send his son out to fight but tries to keep a strong front to give Kazuki as much stability and reassurance as possible. He has a healthy respect for the intellect and abilities of Minashiro Soushi, despite his youth, and relies on him to help Kazuki along during this difficult time. (from AnimeNfo)

Her desperate actions become a major impetus for everyone else's growth. She is the pilot of Mark VI (Sechs).

Kenji Kondou

Pendukung

Kenji is the clown of our group; he's what Sakura would call "a cowardly admirer of women," and that's not a bad description. Surprisingly, he's the Student Council President at the Tatsumiya Island Junior High School (because no on ran against him), but most people don't realize this (they all assume Soushi is). Kenji is very good friends with Sakura and Mamoru and the three are students at the local dojo, run by Sakura's father. Although he is very frank about how frightened he is to fight in the Fafner, he makes an amazing amount of growth over the course of the series--for Sakura's sake. He has always admired her as one of her goons/toadies, but after seeing her afraid in the midst of battle, he realizes that he needs to become stronger so that he can protect her. Kenji lives with his mother, Ayano, and the two share a very close, affectionate relationship (although Ayano often throws things at his head and calls him "baka musuko" (idiot son)). He is the pilot of Mark VIII. (AnimeNFo)
