Sanzou Genjou

Utama

Male · Umur 23-25 · Gol. darah A

Height: 176.5 cm (5'9") Genjou Sanzo, commonly referred to as simply Sanzo, is hardly the traditional image of a Buddhist priest; he is ill-tempered, swears, eats meat, drinks, and is usually seen with a cigarette hanging from his lips. As a Sanzo priest, he is tasked with protecting the sacred Maten Scripture, one of The Founding Scriptures of Heaven and Earth. The Maten's government over evil and the principle of yin allows Sanzo to banish demons and purify evil. Sanzo also possesses a Smith & Wesson shoureijuu (banishing gun), which he is often seen wielding in battle.

At the start of the story, he was bidden by the Sanbutsushin (Three Aspects) and Kanzeon Bosatsu to journey to India with his three companions to stop the resurrection of the demon King Gyumaoh.

Hakkai Cho

Utama

Male · Umur 22-24 · Gol. darah AB

Height: 181 cm (5'11") Despite his pleasant and calm outward expression, Hakkai is a demon not to be reckoned with. He is capable of channeling his chi into powerful bursts of energy in battle, and can also form it into a shield to protect himself or his friends. He wears three earcuffs that act as his limiters. When removed, his true power is released. He can often dispatch demons much larger than himself or numerous foes in this form. Hakkai is often reluctant to do so due to the possible danger to his friends. Out of Sanzo's companions, as well as Sanzo himself, Hakkai is the one who takes care of most of the group's basic tasks: cleaning up after them, shopping, cooking, etc. The jeep Hakkai drives is actually his small magical dragon companion, Hakuryuu.

Dougan Go

Utama

Dougan was assigned as Sanzo's personal attendant way back before the journey west even began. The young boy became infatuated with the priest after he was asked why he was beaten up. Dougan did everything in his power to serve his master Sanzo, until the day that Sanzo left the temple on a mission to save shangra la. From that day forward Dougan became determined to prove to Sanzo that he would be of use to him on his journey. He fled from the temple, underwent training, and returned years later, only to find that Sanzo was no longer there. Realizing he was left behind again, the young man snapped and ran away once again. He learned of Sanzo's travel companions and yearned to become just like them so that he would possess all of their qualities and he alone could assist Sanzo. He was fiercely loyal like Son Goku, killed a thousand demons in one night and became one himself like Cho Hakkai, and dyed his hair red with the blood of his victims to look like Sha Gojyo. For years he waited in the castle of the clan he slayed, just waiting for the day when his master Sanzo would return and he could finally show him how powerful he'd become. Dougan is overly dramatic and seems to spend all of his time making paper airplanes. He took Houran, the daughter of the leader of the clan he slayed, in as his personal slave and used her to lure the Sanzo Ikkou to his mansion. He is defeated at the end, when the shikigami he placed in his body causes a black hole to form, sucking him in.

Lirin

Pendukung

Female

Lirin is the daughter of the Ox-King Gyumaoh by his mistress Gyokumen Koushou in the manga and anime Saiyuki and also Kougaiji's half-sister. Her older half-brother, Kougaiji, loves her despite the fact she is a constant reminder of his father's infidelity to his wife and Kou's mother, Ratsetsunyo. In personality, Lirin is uncannily alike to Son Goku, the heretical monkey from the Sanzo Ikkou. She is happy-go-lucky, always smiling; but despite her comparative youth she is still a powerful fighter, albeit with very large breasts. In Saiyuki Reload (manga version), she was nearly experimented upon by Ni Jian Yi. However, Kougaiji managed to free her. The half-siblings, together with the ever faithful Dokugakuji and Yaone, set out on their own journey to wrestle the sutra from the Sanzo Ikkou. Source: Saiyuki.wikia

Dokugakuji

Pendukung

Male

Dokugakuji is a fictional character in the manga and anime Saiyuki, the bodyguard of Kougaiji. In the Saiyuki Reload and Reload Gunlock animes. He is the older half-brother of Sha Gojyo, and was previously known as Sha Jien, and Gojyo has been searching for him for years. In the manga (original Saiyuki), the two first meet in book three. Unlike his brother, Dokugaku is a full youkai, the son of their father's legal wife (whereas Gojyo was the son of their father's human mistress). In the manga Sha Jien would often calm his mother's violent outbursts towards Gojyo by sleeping with her, acting as a replacement for his dead father. When his mother finally snapped and attempted to murder Gojyo Sha Jien killed her in order to save his brother. Dokugakuji is now a loyal servant of the youkai prince Kougaiji, son of the Ox-Demon Gyumaoh whose revival the Sanzou Ikkou are trying to prevent. Dokugaku stumbled into Houtou castle one day roughly six years before the beginning of the manga, and was hired without question by the trusting prince. To quote the manga "I decided I owed you my all." His weapon of choice is a sword which he summons in the same way Goku does his nyoi-bo, or Gojyo his shakujou. He usually fights Gojyo when the two groups meet. (Source: Saiyuki Wikia)

Dai Matsumoto

In volume two of the manga, she attempts to eliminate the Sanzo Ikkou, first by poisoning their food, then gassing them. Her main fighting opponent is Hakkai, who is much similar to her in terms of personality, calm and collected. Curiously, she somewhat reminded Hakkai as his deceased lover Kanan. Yuuko Minaguchi

Jeep

Pendukung

His is the fifth member of the Sanzo Ikkou, the one who continues to journey carrying the four noisy men on his back. Usually he appears as a white long-necked dragon, but can also metamorphose into a Jeep. The parent figure to name him was Hakkai, but as you can see, in the anime and such he is mainly called “Hakuryuu” [lit. ‘white dragon’], as he was unthinkingly named after a product with a registered trademark. He is a creature created in an experimental “combination of science and youkai magic”, and so has crimson eyes like the flying dragons of Houtou Castle. While still living with Gojyo, Hakkai found the weakened Jeep in the forest and brought him home. Ever since, Jeep has been something of a pet to Hakkai. He didn’t get along very well with his housemate Gojyo, but the two compromised as they are both “taboo existences”. In the manga, his name is "Jeep," while in the anime, it's "Hakuryuu".
