Karakter

Ovan

Utama

Male · Umur 26

Class: Steam Gunner Ovan is a very mysterious person. Generally quiet, when he does speak, everybody listens. He is capable of commanding the attention of everybody around him with little effort. He seems to know quite a bit about events in The World R:2, though his quiet nature makes it unclear exactly how much knowledge he actually has. He frequently disappears from the game for long stretches of time; while he says it's related to his job in the real world, whether that is true or not is up for debate. As a Steam Gunner of an extremely high level, he has progressed beyond having to worry about trivial matters such as leveling or PKers, leaving him plenty of time to work on his long term goals, whatever they may be. One thing to note, though he never seems to lie, he has the habit of not giving a straight answer, leaving others to make their own judgments.

Hiroki Touchi

Haseo

Utama

Male · Umur 17

Class: Adept Rogue (MultiWeapon in Japanese) Real Name: Ryou Misaki Avatar: The Terror of Death, Skeith Height: 174cm In .hack//Roots, Haseo is a newbie player to the Online game known as The World. He is an outcast in real life, and not very good at dealing with people. Upon logging into The World R:2, Haseo is attacked by PKs, (Player Killers), and rescued by Ovan, the Guild master of the Twilight Brigade. Haseo then joins the Twilight Brigade in order to learn more about Ovan. Eventually, after Ovan disappears for an extended period of time, the Twilight Brigade is disbanded and Shino is PKed by Tri-Edge. Obsessed with saving Shino, Haseo continually seeks power, culminating in his journey into the Forest of Pain, a new Lost Ground, where, after confronting another AI Harald, his PC body was transformed. At that point level 133 and equipped with an arsenal of incredibly powerful weapons, Haseo became the Terror of Death, a PKK, or Player Killer Killer, who hunted down Player Killers. Upon finding them, he demanded information on Tri-Edge; if they failed to give any useful information, which was usual, he killed them. The name Terror of Death was the title given to him by players, as he truly cared nothing for any other player except for Shino. Around this time, Ovan returns and informs Haseo that Tri-Edge will reappear shortly at the Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground. Haseo attempts to defeat Tri-Edge, but is Data-Drained, returning some time later as a level 1 character with no items or contact info. (Source: .hack Wiki)

Takahiro Sakurai

Shino

Utama

Female · Umur 20

Class: Harvest Cleric One of the few people close to Ovan who acts as leader of the Twilight Brigade whenever Ovan is incapable of doing so. Gentle-mannered but strong-minded, she holds the Twilight Brigade together during Ovan's frequent absences. She and Ovan seem to have a more involved relationship than mere guildmates, as they have both known and seen each other somewhat frequently outside the game as it was alluded to when they talked about Shino's hospital visits.

Kaori Nazuka

Atoli

Utama

Female · Umur 16

Class: Harvest Cleric Real Name: Kusaka Chigusa Avatar: The Mirage of Deceit, Innis Character's height: 161cm Seemingly the female lead of the series. The World is the first net game she has played and she is very friendly and upbeat. She is part of the Moon Tree Guild and idolizes Sakaki. She also appears to be fond of Haseo despite the fact that he only spends time with her because her Player Character resembles Shino of .hack//Roots. She is a 16-year-old high school student named Kusaka Chigusa in real life. Atoli is a pacifist and is seen as very naive. She sees The World as being more like an alternate reality instead of just an online game much like Hotaru from Legend of the Twilight. She is deeply devoted to helping others and can't understand why everybody can't just get along and enjoy the game together. As a member of Moon Tree's Second Division she serves under Sakaki. She frequently finds herself torn between her loyalty to her Captain, and her friendship with Haseo. (Source: .hack Wiki)

Ayako Kawasumi

Tri-Edge

Pendukung

Male

Azure Kite appears within the fictional MMORPG "The World R:2". He is a Twin Blade-type character who resembles a corrupted, stitched-together version of Kite, the original protagonist from the first four .hack games, who played in the original "The World". Most of the time only one of his eyes are visible (the other one being covered by his hair), and they stare blankly without focus. He also does not talk, and only breathes loudly and growls. Azure Kite carries two triple-edged blades known as the "The Empty Skies", and has access to the powerful Data Drain skill. He can also transform into a floating azure orb of light to travel, and often arrives at areas in this form, surrounded by azure flames.

Sayaka Aida

Kuhn

Pendukung

Male · Umur 24

Class: Steam Gunner Real Name: Tomonari Kasumi Avatar: The Propagation, Magus Character's height: 177cm First appearance: Episode 15 A strong and flirtatious man who wishes for peace in The World. He is a member of "Raven" and part of the project to destroy AIDA. He was once a member of the newbie help guild Canard, and even now, he is admired by Silabus and Gaspard. Kuhn currently lives by himself and is single despite his popularity with girls in The World. He controls the Avatar, Magus. In reality, he is the ex-boyfriend of Mai Minase, one of the heroines of .hack//Liminality, and a former coma victim from the previous version of the World. Kuhn is very cheerful and optimistic, but has a strong sense of justice. Though he acts like a womanizer, he cares deeply for his friends. He dislikes putting others in danger but he respects the strength of people such as Haseo and is willing to work with him. As the second player to activate his Avatar, he has gained almost complete control over Magus, who he affectionately calls "My Magus". In real life, Kuhn is a 24-year-old man working part time at an arcade in Kanazawa and part-time at CC Corp. He loves attending mixed parties. His flirtatious attitude online hides a trouble with forming relationships in the real world. He confesses to Haseo that the only serious girlfriend he ever had was in high school. He prides himself in having the private email addresses of 972 girls on his cell phone and plans to make Pi's his 1000th. His real name is Tomonari Kasumi, and he is the player behind Sieg. Shinichirou Miki

Aina

Pendukung

Ovan's little sister. Aina appears as a little girl with blue hair, dressed in elegant, white Gothic Lolita-style clothing, with some minor similarities to Ovan's clothing. According to Piros the 3rd, her character costume doesn't officially exist and she is a cheat character. Aina is a very sweet girl who cares deeply for her brother and her friends. However she can also be very immature, and has the tendency to lash out at other people when upset. Her deepest desire is to be able to live with her brother Ovan in the real world, the same way that she does in "The World".

Atsuko Enomoto

Pendukung

Female · Umur 24

Class: Tribal Grappler Real Name: Reiko Saeki Avatar: The Avenger, Tarvos First Appearance: Episode 12 As Yata's assistant, Pi is required to follow his orders, a job she does willingly. However, unlike Yata, she has trouble seeing The World R:2 and its users in an impersonal way. She has the tendency to become attached to people and occasionally breaks the rules in order to help them out. Despite the tough personality she tries to give off she is prone to occasional moments of weakness, especially when dealing with other people. Nevertheless she is dedicated to both her job and to Yata and does her best to follow his commands. She is fairly close to the other members of Raven especially Kuhn, though she insists that she only sees him as a coworker. Pi had a very strained relationship with Haseo. Though she recognizes his skill and power, she initially saw him as nothing more then a rude brat with no manners whatsoever, and considered his personality dangerous based on experiences from her own past. She and Haseo gradually built up a deeper relationship and understanding of each other, however. (Source: .hack Wiki)

Sanae Kobayashi

Yata

Pendukung

Male · Umur 17

Class: Macabre Dancer Real Name: Takumi Hino Avatar: The Prophet, Fidchell As a system administrator and leader of G.U., Yata spends little time dealing with the players of The World R:2. Instead he can usually be found in his base, the Serpent of Lore scouring the system for irregularities, and monitoring the users of the game, the eight Epitaph Users in particular. He rarely ventures out of his base himself, preferring to have his subordinates Pi and Kuhn carry out his orders while he monitors. His idol was Ovan for a short while after they met, though he soon began to resent Ovan because AIDA and Aura chose him. Yata is a man who keeps his secrets, and it is almost impossible to tell exactly how much he does, or does not know. Despite being an administrator, his consideration for the average user is also questionable, and he seems to have no qualms with activities that recklessly endanger innocent PCs. His subordinates generally act more ethically, however. (Source: .hack Wiki)

Her favored weapon is the Dorje Hatchet, a set of dual-wield golden knives, which she uses to attack with blinding speed. Alkaid has a very fiery personality. She is always ready to defend her pride, and doesn't take any insults from anybody. She especially dislikes PKers like Bordeaux, seeing them as players who are too cowardly to fight players of equal strength. She also has a particular loathing for Endrance, who she believes stole her title as Arena Emperor illegally. However to those who have earned her respect, Alkaid is a very loyal friend. She is willing to defend their honor just as she would her own. Alkaid is a 16-year-old girl named Chika Kuramoto. She is a high school student in Sapporo, Hokkaido and is classmates with the player behind Nanase. She loves books, and is part of her school's library council. Masumi Asano

Silabus

Pendukung

Male

The World R:2 Name: Silabus (シラバス) R:2 R:2 Race(s): Human R:2 Class(es): Blade Brandier Guild Member: Canard Real Name : Yuuichi Morino Real Life First Appearance: .hack//G.U.: Rebirth Appearance Silabus is an extremely handsome young man with long brown hair tied into a ponytail. His character is dressed almost entirely in green clothing. As a Blade Brandier, he wields a single-handed sword in combat. Personality Silabus is a very friendly player. This aspect of his personality, combined with his handsome appearance, have made him very popular among the female players of The World R:2 (though he seems to be clueless of this). He is exceptionally close to Gaspard, who seems to be his best friend in the game; and he is also close to Kuhn, Haseo, and Atoli, who he met through his guild Canard. Interestingly, he also seems to have a connection with Alkaid. -Offline- Silabus is Yuuichi Morino, a college student studying liberal arts in Sendai, Miyagi. A self-proclaimed gaming addict, he carries a gaming headset with him at all times so he can play The World wherever he goes. However, he enjoys helping people in the real world just like he does online and frequently volunteers his time and energy to various charity and environmentalist organizations and hopes to become a journalist or reporter. Often he worries about his current state as he has a very messy room and spends more time playing The World than studying. To lose the weight of guilt he has taken up jogging to stay healthy. Silabus is a fan of Salvador Aihara and, unlike Kuhn, Silabus doesn't frequent parties nor does he have a girlfriend. He currently lives alone. He prefers Japanese food to western food and loves sashimi and grilled fish. In... .hack//Roots As a member of Canard, Silabus was forced into the role of Guildmaster after Kuhn left. Though he didn't fully understand Kuhn's reasons he realized that Kuhn felt it was the right thing to do and vowed to take care of the Guild for him. Later Kuhn contacted Silabus with a strange order, to look after Haseo if he encountered him. Though he wondered why somebody as powerful as the Terror of Death would need the help of a newbie, Silabus agreed to help him should the opportunity arise. .hack//Alcor Silabus is Canard's brand-new Guildmaster. He seems to be popular with the ladies, but he himself doesn't notice. After he unknowingly invites Nanase a former member of Kestrel into his Guild, he finds himself being hunted by other Kestrel members, most notably Bordeaux and her party. Though his friend Alkaid tries to protect him, Bordeaux eventually leads him into a trap and PKs him, then claims that the entire attack was Nanase's idea. Silabus refuses to believe her, but Bordeaux's words eventually reach Alkaid who confronts Nanase herself and drives her out of Canard. After hearing about Nanase's situation from Kuhn, Silabus and Gaspard set off to find her and make things right again. .hack//G.U. Games Silabus and Gaspard first meet the freshly de-leveled Haseo when Gaspard crashes into him in Mac Anu. Under the impression that he is a newbie, they offer their assistance to him, taking to a dungeon to level up. Haseo, believing that cooperating with them would be the quickest way to regain his power, goes along with them, but is unable to convince them that he is the PKK known as the "Terror of Death", despite already knowing all the ins and outs of the game. This changes near the end of the dungeon, however, when Bordeaux, Negimaru, and Grein ambush Haseo and attempt to PK him. They are scared off by Pi however, and Haseo's party is able to return home. Later, Silabus passes the title of Guildmaster of Canard on to Haseo, who he believes has leadership potential. Silabus also participates in Haseo's Arena team, and helps Haseo in his effort to recruit a Harvest Cleric for the team. He also fights alongside Haseo and Atoli during the Demon Palace Tournament. Later, at the suggestion of Antares Silabus and Gaspard help Haseo obtain his Flick Reaper job extension. Though Silabus remains blissfully unaware of Haseo and G.U.'s fight against AIDA, Silabus nevertheless becomes an important person in Haseo's quest. The adventures Haseo has alongside Silabus and Gaspard help remind Haseo that there are other players in "The World" aside from him, and that these normal players are people who should be protected. Silabus, with his cheerful attitude helps keep Haseo grounded throughout his quest. .hack//Cell Silabus stumbles upon Midori, the female protagonist of the novel, with Gaspard in Mac Anu on their way to the Chaos Gate. Thinking Midori was a newbie player to The World they ask if they could help her while introducing themselves. After being declined the offer to help her, and the offer to join a party with them, Silabus gives Midori her member address before leaving with Gaspard to Arche Koeln Waterfall. Once teleporting into one of the sacred lands of The World Silabus and Gaspard run into Bordeaux and a few dozen Pkers surrounding Adamas. Worried and sensing the trouble brought by the Pkers Silabus emails Midori of what was going on-Midori quickly hurries to Arche Koeln Waterfall and sits on the sidelines with Silabus and Gaspard, enraged as she watches Adamas get Pked over and over again. As things start to worsen and Midori now jumping in on the Pking frenzy to save Adamas from any more unneeded death, Silabus and Gaspard help her from the sidelines. Seeing how they are lower level then most of the Pkers and greatly outnumbered they help but with slow effect in decreasing the crowd. Once the Pkers disbanded due to a crazed Triple Grappler, Midori, Silabus, and Gaspard revive Adamas before leaving the sacred ground due a System Maintenance check. Midori thinks of Silabus and Gaspard as a comedian trio due to when they first met. Canard, at the time, only consisted of three members-Silabus, Gaspard, and Kuhn (Source: Wikipedia)

Sakaki

Pendukung

Real name: Toru Uike Age in first appearance: 10 Class/Job: Edge Punisher Character's height: 185cm Sakaki is a young, green-haired man. He is dressed in formal, Japanese-style clothing in the style of a noble. When fighting he draws an oversized, two-handed sword as is typical of his class. After his being infected with the AIDA<Victorian>, Sakaki transforms into Sakaki<Zenith>. Very little of his original charm and charisma still exists: he is now thoroughly demonic in appearance. His face is drawn and twisted inhumanly, his hair is wild, and many parts of his body have become red and black, a trait signalling a deeply-rooted AIDA infection. In addition, he now has a single wing-like appendage protruding from his left shoulder, a vestige of the AIDA that possesses him. Sakaki is the captain of Moon Tree Guild second division and Atoli is one of his members.

Katsuyuki Konishi

Gaspard

Pendukung

Gaspard plays The World to have fun. He sees no reason players should be killing each other, and occasionally bursts into tears when the world around him doesn't resemble The World he knows and loves. He is also quite shy, and refuses to take part in Arena battles. However he can be brave when people close to him are threatened.

Akiko Yajima

Bordeaux

Pendukung

Bordeaux loves having power over others. Though she is a fairly skilled fighter she prefers to go after targets much weaker than herself, so that she can dominate them. Not one to believe in a fair fight, she will only attack when she is sure she has the advantage and quickly loses her composure when faced with somebody stronger than herself. She can almost always be found with her lackeys Negimaru and Grein, along with other members of Kestrel.

Akiko Hiramatsu

Asta

Pendukung

Asta roleplays a samurai-like character. She and IYOTEN are PKers who specialize in targeting newbies. Their usual approach is to find new players and befriend them, then PK them once they've won their trust. They usually don't target more powerful players, though they will fight if they feel they have an advantage. She seems generally polite, aside from her PKing, and can be extremely malicious towards others. In the Japanese version of the games, Asta speaks like a samurai, but she speaks formally in the English version, using proper words. She speaks clearly, and somewhat slowly, an American view of Samurai, if they were to speak English. She is well thought out, and plans what she says, trying to keep her 'Samurai' persona.

Youko Honna

IYOTEN

Pendukung

One of a pair of PKs, alongside Asta, that showed Haseo how to play The World before attempting to PK him. He and Asta were PKed themselves by Ovan and this lead to their encounter, though it is speculated that Ovan himself hired them both. They later encountered Haseo and were PKed by him as a result.
