Karakter & Staf — Patlabor the Mobile Police

Noa Izumi

Utama

Female

Section 2, Division 2, Team 1: The bubbly, perky, red-headed labor otaku from Hokkaidō. The main character of the show, Noa is usually the one at the center of the action. Noa loves her labor much like a pet and named it "Alphonse", a name previously held by a pet dog and a pet cat she had while growing up. She's impulsive and doesn't think things through, but not nearly as much as Ohta. Noa is arguably the best pilot in Division 2, although both Clancy and Kumagami have shown extreme talent as well but rarely pilot. She has a natural affinity for labors and gets 110% out of it, much to her partner's amazement. She can drink quite a bit more than her coworkers, and recovers from hangovers much faster since her family runs a liquor store.

Miina Tominaga

Isao Oota

Utama

Male

The loose cannon of the Special Vehicles Second Division, Ota constantly gets himself in over his head which leads to some humorous, interesting, and sometimes even good outcomes. Ota has a deep love and obsession with guns and although he the type to shoot first and ask questions later, he is actually a really good shot. He is usually the pilot of Second Division's Unit 2 Patlabor.

Michihiro Ikemizu

Asuma Shinohara

Utama

Male

Section 2 Division 2 Team 1: Son of the head of Shinohara Heavy Industries, the company that makes 90% of the labors in the world. After a falling out with his father, Asuma joined the police force and specifically requested to be assigned to the labor units. Smart, honest to a fault, and sometimes a bit hot-headed, Asuma is a very good officer, although he's often used by Goto as a lackey. Noa and Hiromi's commanding officer in the field, he has a soft spot for the former. Goto recognizes Asuma has some talent in diverse fields, as can be seen in various places throughout the series.

Toshio Furukawa

Kiichi Gotou

Pendukung

Male

Captain of Division 2 of SV.2. He seems quite laid back and very nice but is an extremely capable officer. He has a razor sharp perception and is highly subtle and manipulative. It was rumored that because of this, the top officials in the police force assigned him to SV.2 for fear he might ruffle too many feathers. Despite that and his general attitude, Goto is on top of most events long before most others are aware of what's going on.

Ryuusuke Oobayashi

Shinobu Nagumo

Pendukung

Female

Leader of Division 1. She is highly regarded by everyone in the police force and has a solid relationship with all of her coworkers. This is especially true of her relationship with Goto, which is difficult to sum up but can be described as interesting. Nagumo is a by-the-book style captain, as opposed to Goto who will often do many unconventional things to meet a goal. Despite her conventional mentality, she is always there to lend a hand when Division 2 needs it.

Yoshiko Sakakibara

Kanuka Clancy

Pendukung

Female

NYPD, Section 2, Division 2, Team 2: A temporary member of Section 2, on assignment from the NYPD. Sent to observe a labor unit with the purpose of helping build one for New York City. Highly capable in all duties. Her piloting skills are better than Ohta's, but was assigned to backup duty since acclimating the Labor to a temporary officer would be a poor decision. (Also, keeping Ohta in line is not a job for an idiot). Much like Nagumo, Kanuka is very by-the-book. She is usually all business and sometimes cold to the members of SV.2 with the exception of Noa. Kanuka was born in Hawaii but apparently moved to New York later on. When she travels back to New York, she stops in Hawaii to see her grandmother whom she loves dearly. Kanuka's piloting skills are to be feared. Goto certainly thinks so, since he called her in to assist SV2 in the first movie.

You Inoue

Fuwa Tamaki

Pendukung

Female

A First Lieutenant of Ground Self-Defense Forces position and a friend of Nagumo Shinobu since her student years.

Masako Katsuki

Takahata

Pendukung

Male

Tesshou Genda

Momoko Sakurayama

Pendukung

Female

Sakurayama Momoko is a tabloid Television journalist who always seems to be there at the right time to get that scoop. After following the SV2 to get several scoops, she later helps them in their Griffon Labor case.

Megumi Hayashibara

Hiromi Yamazaki

Pendukung

Male

Section 2 Division 2 Team 1: The giant from Okinawa. He is soft spoken and kind hearted. He wanted to join his father as a fisherman but easily gets seasick. He later joined the police force and eventually made it over to SV.2. Yamazaki's too large to fit in a labor's cockpit, so he is designated as the carrier driver for Unit 1. When not on duty he tends to SV.2's vegetable garden where his green fingers can be seen. He's extremely strong, as demonstrated in Movie 1 and 2 where Yamazaki mans the massive anti-labor rifle borrowed from the Narashino Parachute Labor team (apparently an M82 anti-material rifle).

Daisuke Gouri

Takeo Kumagami

Pendukung

Female

Kumagami is Ota's backup. She's Kanuka's replacement after she returns to New York. She was top of her class, and is an exceptional police officer. She was courted by several police agencies, but eventually chose the SV2 because of the challenge. Kumagami seems to be very level headed and nothing seems to faze her, though the antics of her workmates sometimes annoys her. Kumagami has an irrational fear of the supernatural, especially ghosts as her father was interested in the topic and she heard many ghost stories when she was a child. (Source: AniDB)

Keiko Yokozawa

Badrinath Harchand

Pendukung

A boy from India who likes computer games. He pilots the J9 Griffon labor. As a pilot, he's as talented as Noa and considers her to be his rival. (Source: AniDB)

Takuma Gouno

Richard Wong

Pendukung

A very mysterious man who works at Schaft Japan. He is in charge of the Griffon project. He seems to smile all the time and gives off the impression he's happy-go-lucky, but in fact he's very calculating, eccentric and cunning, and will stop at nothing to get the desired result.

Hirotaka Suzuoki

Kurosaki

Pendukung

Kurosaki is head of the Phantom labor project, and later second in command of the Griffon project. He seems to be a rather cold man and like Richard Wong, will do what ever it takes to get the result he wants. (Source: AniDB)

Takaya Hashi

Shigeo Shiba

Pendukung

Shigeru Chiba

Tsutomu Gomioka

Pendukung

Section 2 Division 1 Team 2: One of the labor pilots for Section 1, and much like his commanding officer, he's very by the book. A good pilot, although his coworkers in Division 2 seem to have more talent. (Source: Wikipedia)
