Evangeline Athanasia Katherine McDowell

Utama

Female · Umur 700

Seat Number: 26 Clubs: Go Club, Tea Ceremony Club Height: 130 cm (4'3") Evangeline is a centuries-old true blood vampire, cursed to remain at the school by Nagi Springfield. Initially an antagonist for Negi due to his father's actions, she eventually becomes an important teacher and guide for the young mage and his allies. However, Eva remains a cruel, powerful mage in her own right, yet with the sensitivities of her former human life. Evangeline, having the reputation of a coldblooded killer, is feared in the magic side of the world. The legends surrounding her have gained her many monikers such as the Advent of Evil, the Apostle of Calamity, the Doll Master, and the Gospel of Darkness. In UQ Holder, a semi-sequel set 70 years into the future, she takes on the form of a tall woman and the alias Yukihime. She is the foster mother to Touta, Negi's grandson, and is the leader of UQ Holder-- an organization comprised of immortals and other monsters that aid their brethren and outcast humans.

Yuka Takakura

Karin Yuuki

Utama

Number 4 of UQ Holder's immortal squad, Numbers. She is very devoted to Yukihime after having been saved by her in the past and is jealous of Touta's close relationship with her. Her immortality is said to come from divine origin, as all her wounds heal instantly instead of just regenerating fast like in most immortals. Because of it she was branded as a witch and hunted when she was a small child centuries ago. (Source: Wikipedia)

Yui Ogura

Kirie Sakurame

Utama

Number 9 of UQ Holder's immortal squad, Numbers. She is an extremely wealthy girl and the main financial sponsor of the organization. Yuuki Hirose

Negi Springfield

Pendukung

Male

Negi Springfield is the teacher of Mahora Girls' Jr High School class 3-A (formerly 2-A) with formerly 31 students, now reduced to 30. Negi Springfield is the son of the master mage Nagi Springfield, famously known as the legendary "Thousand Master", and Princess Akira of the Ostian Empire in the magic world. At present, Negi has formed 11 temporary pactio with his students (Asuna, Nodoka, Setuna, Konoka, Yue, Haruna, Chisame, Kazumi, Kaede, Ku Fei, and Chachamaru) and 1 temporary pactio with Theo, which gives him the ability to allow him to use any of his partner's artifacts. Negi specializes in wind and lightning spells (his father's specialty) though he is initially lacking in battle experience. He later trains under Ku Fei in martial arts to make up for his weakness in close combat, advancing very quickly (even learning how to do instant movement, otherwise known as Shundou) and applying a strong magical barrier around himself to avoid damaging his frail body. He eventually becomes a master at using delayed spells as a battle tactic. Due to the training he had with Evangeline and Jack Rakan, his magic and combat capability increases exponentially. Negi also learns and improves upon Evangeline's "Magic Erebea", which absorbs offensive spells into his own body. He also came up with a new spell: "Spell Synthesis: Lightning God Lance Titan Slayer" which is a new high class lightning spell. Negi even manages to use Magic Erebea's ultimate ability by using a magic circle that can stop and absorb an opponent's attack, whether it is magical or spiritual attack, and use it against them; even Evangeline herself could not master this. In the latest chapter, it is shown that Magic Erebea marks have begin to spread all over Negi's body and that Negi has formed a temporary pactio with Shiori, one of Fate's subordinates. His aim is to become a Magister Magi (master mage) and find his father who is currently missing.

Rina Satou

Asuna Kagurazaka

Pendukung

Female · Gol. darah B

Affiliations: Art Club As one of the main characters of the series, Asuna has been known to have quite a short temper and frequently her actions are a bit rash, but at the same time, has some aspects that display her maturity, especially when it comes to doing the right thing. Although at first she really detests Negi, over time she becomes like a big sister role model to him, as she does resemble Negi's cousin, Nekane, in a way.

Akemi Kanda

Setsuna Sakurazaki

Pendukung

Female

Setsuna is a Shinmeiryu swordswoman from Kyoto who was taken in by Eishun Konoe, Konoka's father and the leader of the Kyoto Mage Association. She is childhood friends with Konoka and her protector. Setsuna spends the beginning of the series being relatively cold to Konoka, wishing to protect her from the shadows due to not forgiving herself for being unable to save Konoka when she almost drowned when they were kids. She does eventually open up to Konoka after the Kyoto arc and begins calling her "Oujo-sama" and "Kono-chan". Setsuna's pactio, Sica Shishikushiro is a wakizashi which she can summon and multiply at will to strike targets like missiles. Due to her training she's also skilled in anti-demon arts and is the one who taught Negi how to create shikigami from paper. Setsuna is a hanyou like Koutaro, in particular a crow. She was expelled from her people because white wings are considered a bad omen, and it was implied by Evangeline that she is an albino using hair dye and contact lenses to appear human. A running gag within the series is that Setsuna and Konoka appear to have romantic feelings for one another, yet Setsuna will deny it whenever she and Konoka are stumbled upon in romantic situations or asked about her preference.

Yuu Kobayashi

Nodoka Miyazaki

Pendukung

Female · Gol. darah O

Seat Number: 27 Class 2/3-A's resident bookworm, Nodoka is of the quiet but kind variety, harboring romantic feelings for her homeroom teacher, Negi Springfield. She has since confessed her feelings to him, but not much progress in their relationship has been made; they still remain friends. Nodoka is the second person to establish a probationary contract with Negi and gain a pactio card (it occured during the field trip to Kyoto). Her artifact is a book that can show one's thoughts in picture diary format.

Mamiko Noto

Sayo Aisaka

Pendukung

Female

Student Number: 1 The helpless and meek ghost of a former student, Sayo Aisaka has low self-esteem and is not skilled at being a ghost, tripping even though she doesn't have feet and being completely unable to scare people, more often frightening herself than others. She is invisible to almost everyone, and her presence goes mostly unnoticed though Takahata had her included in the class registry, with a note to Negi not to change her seating. Sayo has been friendless and lonely for around 60 years since her death, which made her very desperate for a friend, and later attempts to talk to the rest of the class during the preparations for the School Festival. Yuri Shiratori

Chachamaru Karakuri

Pendukung

Female

Seat Number: 10 Constructed: January 3rd, 2001 Activated: April 1st, 2001 Clubs: Tea Ceremony Club, Go Club Chachamaru Karakuri is a two-year-old robot created by Satomi Hakase to serve Evangeline and protect her during time where the spell binding her weakens her. She is initially without any real emotions, but after spending time around Negi, she begins to have feelings for him, and show emotions. She spends most of her free time helping people and rescuing stray animals. She strongly fears the idea that she is nothing more than a soulless doll and that she does not have a soul. She is skilled in hand to hand combat, and she is equipped with rocket fists, laser emitters, magic-powered thrusters that can allow her to fly for fifteen minutes, and a tool to undo binding circles. Her body has been upgraded several times, and she is later given a completely new body that looks completely human, unlike her original body's easily detectable parts; she even has a chibi body designed to disguise herself. The upgrade also allows her to transform her arms into swords and guns. She likes having people wind her up and serving tea

Akeno Watanabe

Yuuna Akashi

Student Number: 2 She is an athletic girl who plays basketball and is often seen together with Makie, Ako, and Akira (a.k.a. the Sports clubs group). Her father is Professor Akashi, one of the Mage-teachers at the Academy. Yuna is the most mischievous one amongst the sports girls. Madoka Kimura

Yue Ayase

Pendukung

Female · Gol. darah AB

Seat Number: 4 Yue is Nodoka's best friend, and is often seen around both her and Haruna. She's short and at times has a blunt way of speaking to people, but is generally a friendly person. She likes to read but (ironically) doesn't like to study, and is one of the Baka Rangers (a name for the 5 worst students in Negi's class). When she finds out that Negi is a mage she gets excited about learning magic herself. At first she shows no romantic interest in Negi, but as time goes by she finds herself developing a crush on him. However she doesn't want to hurt Nodoka, so she tries to keep it bottled up as much as she can. She's supportive of Nodoka and wishes her the best of luck when it comes to her and Negi's relationship. Yue became the 5th person in Negi's class to make a Pactio with him, following Asuna, Nodoka, Setsuna, and Konoka.

Natsuko Kuwatani

Makie Sasaki

Pendukung

Female · Gol. darah O

Seat Number: 16 Born on: 7th of March, 1989 Hair: Light Pink Eyes: Green Likes: gymnastics, Negi-kun, cute things Dislikes: slimy things, stuff Like nattou (nattou is essentially fermented beans) Clubs: Gymnastics Club Makie is a cheerful girl who likes gymnastics. She's very friendly and outgoing, but not very smart: she's one of the Baka Rangers (a name given to the five worst students in Negi's class), Baka Pink. A minor character in the beginning of the series, Makie's role is slightly expanded on later on in the manga, where she finds herself having a small crush on Negi later in the series (mainly more so in her finding him cute than an actual crush). Despite her constant being around her teacher, though, she is unaware that he's a mage. In the Negima!? anime series her character is quite different. Although still cheerful and kind, she's now a form of comic relief; she's often made fun of and mocked by her roommate Ayaka. Despite this, though, the two get along somewhat well, sharing a dorm together even.

Yui Horie

Chizuru Naba

Pendukung

Female · Gol. darah A

Clubs: Astronomy Club Hair: Brown Eyes: Blue Likes: Looking after others Dislikes: Loneliness She is a gentle, motherly, and loving, yet strange girl (she seems to have a problem with people calling her "old"). She is a kind person to everyone, volunteers at the daycare center in Mahora City and is in the Astronomy club. She is a good cook, and has exceptional domestic skills. Even though she is very nice, she can be sometimes be equally scary. Shortly after Golden Week, she found an injured dog on the side of the road. She took the dog in, which turned out to be a young half-demon boy named Kotaro Inugami, who had come to Mahora looking for Negi. Unfortunately, Graf Herrman, a powerful demon, attacked Kotaro, and kidnapped Chizuru when she stood up to him. She all but adopts Kotaro after Negi and Kotaro defeat Graf Hermann, and gets him to live in their dorm under the identity of Natsumi's younger brother. Chizuru is extremely courageous, as shown in her encounter and fight with Graf Hermann, where she calmly confronted him for his intrusion and even slapped him when he was about to petrify Kotaro. While Chizuru stays out of the fighting during the mock-battle at the festival, she does take part in the search for Chao late in the conflict, and wins a gift pack for finding her (which she promptly intimidates Kotaro and Natsumi into not disclosing). Her roommates are Ayaka, Natsumi, and Kotaro. Chizuru has the largest breasts in the class. In the Volume 8 character notes and the Negima Workshop, Ken Akamatsu mentions that Chizuru and Mutsumi Otohime from his earlier work, Love Hina, are very similar.

Misa Kobayashi

Ayaka Yukihiro

Pendukung

Female

She is currently the 3-A class president and is among the highest scorers on school exams, where she was last seen as ranked 4th in her whole grade. She and Asuna seem to hate each other, with the two often getting into fights, but it eventually becomes clear that they merely have an odd, but surprisingly close friendship that neither is willing to admit to. She is the girl most overtly fond of Negi, though she stands by the position that she is only interested in Negi because he "needs a mother figure". Though she is highly intelligent, she can often be clueless in relation to the events surrounding her. Thus, many of her classmates incorrectly think of her as a fool (even if they won't say so out loud). (Source: Wikipedia)

Junko Minagawa

Mana Tatsumiya

Pendukung

Female

Seat Number: 18 Clubs: Biathlon Club She is the daughter of the keepers of the Tatsumiya shrine (which is on campus), and works part-time there as a priestess and exorcist, employing guns with spellbreaker bullets as her tool of exorcism. She is also a mercenary, and mostly takes on contracts that pertain to hunting/destroying/exorcising demons and ghosts but will take on any job as long as she is paid well. She is not particularly sociable, keeping to herself most of the time and not engaging in conversation. She is a skinflint, and does not readily spend money unless she has to, or if there is a way to get a discount. When on the job, she is extremely serious and straightforward, which can make her seem cold-hearted and quite frightening.

Miho Sakuma

Fate Averruncus

Pendukung

The last of the three mercenary children helping Chigusa. He supposedly came to Japan from the Istanbul Magic Association a month prior the school field trip to Kyoto, but was actually hired by Chigusa Amagasaki for her plan. She refers to him as "Newcomer". Fate is an expert in both Western and Eastern magic, is highly skilled in martial arts (noted by Negi to slightly resemble the chinese martial arts he practices), and is stronger and more skilled than Negi, as of the current story arc. He was the one that almost turned everyone at the Kansai Magic Association headquarters into stone, and kidnapped Konoka when Chigusa failed to do so on earlier attempts. The name he has may not be his real name, as noted by Eishun and furthed by Professor Akashi's report. He disappeared after he and the summoned demon god were defeated by Evangeline. He specializes in water-based and petrification spells and can perform Eastern magic such as summoning demons using ofuda. Recently, Fate has appeared outside the gate to the magic world, and, upon entering the magic world by following Negi's group, attacks Negi by piercing him with a spear-like projectile. He and a group of mages (whose identities are unknown- however, one of them seems to know Asuna) then engage in battle with Negi's ministras, separating the group with a forceful transportation spell, and accomplished the mission they were originally sent to do: destroying the gateway to the normal world (the group later set out to destroy the other gate keys). Fate and his group later framed Negi's team for this, putting a bounty on each of the Ala Alba members, making it harder for them to move freely. It is noted by Evangeline that Fate may not be human (saying he was something more akin to a puppet). His and his group's intentions are not known at this time.

Akira Ishida

Jack Rakan

Pendukung

Jack Rakan (Jacobus Racan on his pactio card as the "k" in his family name is replaced with a "c" as is standard on all pactio cards), also known as "Rakan of the Thousand Swords", is the large, dark-skinned member of Nagi's group. He appears to be a powerful fighter, demonstrating incredibly destructive attacks with relative ease. His Pactio item is a blade that can transform into (in his words) "any shape imaginable" and can also take the form of a giant sword falling from the sky for an immensely powerful strike. He also demonstrated the ability to emit a high-powered laser from his body at a whim. Rakan initially encounters Negi (in his older disguise) in the Magical World witnessing his battles in the tournaments to raise money to free some of his students. Seeing him without a special ultimate technique, he offers Negi to teach him one for a huge fee. However, after the two of them are attacked by a shadow-manipulator who wants revenge on Nagi, Rakan is forced to save Negi's life for free as well as decides to become his teacher without the fee. Rakan then teaches Negi a technique called Magia Erebea, a forbidden technique created by Evangeline A.K. McDowell. (Source: Wikipedia)
