Karakter & Staf — World Witches Take Off!

Yoshika Miyafuji

Utama

Female · Umur 15

Height: 150 cm (4'11'') The main character of the series, age fifteen and hailing from the Fuso Empire. A typical young girl who comes from a family of clinicians who use their magic powers to heal people. Yoshika gains the features of a mame-shiba when using said power. Her father designed the Striker Units the Strike Witches use to fight. However, because her father died in the war she is vehemently against fighting when Mio Sakamoto appears to recruit her. Only after entering combat for the first time, helping to defend the Fuso fleet heading to Britannia from a Neuroi attack, does she decide to join the 501st. Now she holds the rank of Sergeant. Yoshika has a talent for cooking, but tends to care more about her food's health benefits than its taste, such as when she introduced the other Witches to natto. Carries a 13mm Type99 Machine gun along with a M712 in battle. In the OVA she had a small gray dog as a familiar which has not yet appeared. Her Striker Unit is modeled after the A6M Zero and she is based on the ace Kaneyoshi Mutoh. Due to events in second season, she gains new Striker, J7W1 Shinden, based on Kyuushuu J7W plane. She seems to love the other girl's breasts.

Misato Fukuen

Mio Sakamoto

Utama

Female · Umur 20

The first Strike Witch and sub-commander of the unit, with the commissioned rank of Squadron Leader and official rank of Major. Mio is also the oldest witch at nineteen (later, twenty) years old and, like Yoshika, comes from Fuso. She is seemingly the toughest and most mature of the Witches, being an experienced veteran of the early fighting against the Neuroi. She knew Yoshika's father while he was first designing the Striker Unit and was the first person to pilot one. Her usual task is to train new recruits, and in this role she becomes a very strict disciplinarian, appropriately gaining the ears and tail of a Doberman when equipped with her Striker. Otherwise she is quite friendly, if a little too forward at times, with a very distinct laugh. Under Mio's eyepatch is a magic eye that grants her increased visual prowess and the ability to spot Neuroi cores when used. Being 19/20 years old however Mio's magical power has aged too far for her to erect effective shields in combat, however she can still fly and use her magical eye. Carries a 13mm Type99 Machine-gun into a battle along with a magical katana strapped to her back capable of cutting apart giant Neuroi. Her Striker Unit is based on the A6M Zero (in second season she receives a new Striker, based probably on the Kyuushuu J7W1 Shinden) and she herself is based on Saburo Sakai and Tetsuzō Iwamoto. When wearing her Striker Unit, she gains the dark ears and tail of a Chartreux. Perrine holds the rank of Flying Officer and her original unit was the Armée de l'Air 802nd Flying Corps. Carries a rapier into battle along with a Bren light machine-gun. Her Striker Unit is based on the Arsenal VG 39 and she is named after Pierre Clostermann.

Holds the rank of Sergeant and her affiliation is the Royal Air Force 610th Fighter Squadron. Her armaments are a Mk. I Boys Anti-tank Rifle and a Bren light machine gun. She serves as the squadron's sharpshooter and possesses an almost magical degree of eyesight similar to Mio's. She has a talent for analyzing the thoughts and feelings of her companions, and this skill translates well to the battlefield where her judgment is used to consistently outwit her opponents. In combat her weapons of choice are the MG42 and Suomi M1931 submachine gun. Eila's Striker Unit is based on the Messerschmitt Bf-109G-2 and she herself is based on Eino Ilmari Juutilainen.

Sanya V. Litvyak

Pendukung

The single Witch out of the Orussia Empire at thirteen years old. Preferring to stay indoors during the day, Sanya has been described as "nocturnal." At times she is literally asleep on her feet, counting on Eila to move her around. Despite this somewhat limiting her contact with the other members of the 501st, her low profile makes her ideal for night missions and sneak attacks. Gains the ears and tail of a black cat with her Striker Unit equipped. Sanya's rank is Flying Officer and her original unit affiliation is the Orussia Imperial Army 586th Fighter Regiment. Her weapon of choice is a modified Fliegerfaust called the "Fliegerhummer." Yumi Hara

Nikka Katajainen

Pendukung

Female · Umur 15

Height: 160 cm Affiliation: Suomus Air Force 24th, Squadron 3rd Company Team: 502nd Joint Fighter Wing Rank: Flight Sergeant Weapon: MG42 Familiar: Snow weasel / Ermine Nikka Edvardine Katajainen is a witch of the 502nd Joint Fighter Wing, originating from Suomus. She is based on Finnish ace Nils Katajainen. After graduation, she was appointed Flight Sergeant and assigned to the 3rd Company of the 24th Squadron, an elite unit of the Suomus Air Force. As Eila Ilmatar Juutilainen is also a member of this squadron, the two are fellow squadron members. Although she shot down a Neuroi on her first sortie, she was hit and the engine got damaged and crashed while returning to the base. One of the causes is her strong fighting spirit and her fighting style being continuous attacks with no regard for shields. In 1943, she was invited to the 502nd Joint Fighter Wing and became known as the "Break Witches" along with Waltrud Krupinski and Kanno Naoe due to often damaging their striker units. Nikka is something of a tomboy, bearing a boyish appearance and often an unladylike manner. She was once something of a delinquent, which has since eased somewhat with the influence of her close friends. She possesses a very exacting personality which usually splits any situation into right or wrong. While not stupid, she is relatively guileless and often distracted. She has a strong desire to do her best to protect her hometown and works hard, but her character is too straightforward and this often makes her attitude worse. She is bright and social, but in some situations, she cannot read the atmosphere of the place.

Georgette Lemare

Pendukung

Height: 156 cm Rank: Pilot Officer Striker: VG.33, VG.39 Weapons: FM mle 1924/29, Bren Mk III Familiar: Persian cat A witch of the 502nd Joint Fighter Wing, originating in Gallia, who is the wing's specialist in healing magic and defensive fighting. Lemare was one of many new recruits who joined the Gallian Air Force during the Neuroi's invasion of Gallia, and she quickly gained experience while participating in the evacuation of her country to Britannia and overseas. Her skill at defensive maneuvers and fighting spirit caught the attention of other witches, including Aleksandra Poryshkin, the second-in-command of the 502nd. Despite her toughness in combat, Lemare is very gentle at heart. She is very level-headed and circumspect compared to the other witches of the 502nd, and also unlike them she enjoys her chores. Her healing magic uses considerable energy, so she has a voracious appetite but remains quite thin. Her fighter pilot archetype is Georges Lemare.

In 1944, she was assigned to the 502nd Joint Fighter Wing in the Baltic. Her marksmanship and agility are remarkable, but she is reckless, having virtually no regard for her personal safety. As a result, she often damages her striker units and the trio of her, Katajainen, and Kanno are infamous for destroying strikers.
