Kasumi Toyama

Utama

Female

Height: 156 cm (5'1") A student at Hanasakigawa Girls' High School and the vocalist and rhythm guitarist in the band Poppin'Party. When she viewed the stars one night as a child, she heard a sparkling "Star Beat" and had been searching for it. She believes that she found it after founding Poppin'Party. She also has a little sister named Asuka, who she calls "Aa-chan". It's not always clear who is the more responsible out of the two. Cheerful and always in high spirits, Kasumi is a playful, active and generally positive girl that always finds something to be excited about. She is capable of sharing a mental wavelength with Kokoro Tsurumaki, something nobody else seems to be able to do. She is also the type to believe in (or fall for) the strangest explanations. However, Kasumi is also quite forgetful, tending to do important things by last moment (though unintentionally so). She loves to tease Arisa, but given Kasumi's kind personality, it's hard to tell if she is deliberately trying to provoke her or if she's oblivious. At times she can also behave melodramatically.

Arisa Ichigaya

Utama

Female

Height: 152 cm (5'0") Instruments: Roland JUNO-DS 61 W and Roland AX-Synth (White) Arisa is a first-year student at Hanasakigawa Girls' High School and the keyboardist of Poppin'Party. In the second season of the anime, she is a second-year student and the student council secretary. Arisa's grandparents run a pawnshop called "Ryuuseidou", and she lives in a big and traditional house, which includes a basement where the Poppin'Party members practice most of the time. When Arisa was younger, she started to learn the piano but then quit it halfway because she didn't have any motivation to continue - when she befriended Kasumi and heard about her plans to start a band, she picked it up again. Arisa is an introvert whose hobbies include tending for bonsai plants and internet surfing. Even though she's basically a shut-in and admits being lazy by nature, she still manages to achieve excellent results in school. It was shown that in the past that Arisa was a lonely type. She is also quite moody and grumpy, and because of her sharp tongue, often gets into arguments with others (especially Kasumi). Usually, however, this is because she is unable to be honest with herself.

Rimi Ushigome

Utama

Female

Height: 150 cm (4'11") Instrument: ESP Viper Bass A student at Hanasakigawa Girls' High School and the bassist of Poppin'Party. Outside of the band, Rimi is friends with Misaki, and similarly to Himari, one of Kaoru's fangirls. Rimi's pink bass guitar is a hand-me-down from her older sister Yuri, who is two years older than her and is the lead vocalist of the band Glitter Green. During Rimi's high-school entrance ceremony, she heard Kasumi's self-introduction that was filled with boundless optimism, and this sparked her interest in her. Though Rimi wanted to change her cowardly and shy personality, she had initially been unable to do anything about it. At first, Rimi declined Kasumi's invitation to become a member of the band Poppin'Party because of her stage fright, but everything changed when she became inspired by Kasumi who sang on stage at Live House Space until Glitter Green, who were late because of the weather, arrived. She eventually found her confidence to overcome her stage fright and managed to perform with Kasumi and Arisa. After the show, she finally decided to join Kasumi's band as its third member and bassist. Rimi is a shy and reserved girl who admires her older sister and often gushes over her. She tends to compare herself to the others frequently and wishes she could be more confident and be able to "speak up" more often. Rimi is cute and sweet-natured and often blushes when flustered, but at times can be very determined and strong as well. As Rimi used to live in the Kansai region, her Kansai dialect sometimes slips into her speech when she stumbles on her sentences or is very nervous; she is a bit embarrassed about this.

Tae Hanazono

Female

Height: 164 cm (5'5") Instrument: ESP Snapper Guitar A student at Hanasakigawa Girls' High School and the lead guitarist of Poppin'Party. The other members call her O-Tae. Tae lives with her parents and 20 rabbits. She has considerable skill with the guitar, since she started playing it when she was in elementary school. As a huge lover of music, she started working part-time at a live house after entering high school. Tae at first doubted Kasumi's idea to audition at Space, because the band needed a considerable skill level to pass. But when Kasumi, Arisa, Rimi, and Tae performed for the first time in front of their friends and family, Tae realized how much fun she had performing with them and joined the band as its fourth member. A relaxed individual who lives at a steady pace, Tae sometimes surprises the people around her with her keen observations and understanding of music. She carries a sense of knowing in her discussions with others, while always keeping an optimistic outlook on a situation. She loves rabbits and is constantly thinking about them, sometimes to the point of daydreaming and losing focus during a conversation. She affectionately refers to one of her rabbits, Odd-Eye (Occhan in Japanese and Oddie in the localized version), as her boyfriend.

Saaya's family owns the Yamabuki Bakery, at which she helps out, even during the school term. But thanks to Kasumi, who never gave up on her, and her mother's support, she regained her passion for music and her desire to perform in a band, thus became the last member of Poppin'Party to join. A kind, empathetic and hardworking person who cares deeply about her friends and family, Saaya often lends an ear to Kasumi and Rimi. She is generally level-headed and easygoing, and is like an 'older sister' to the other girls, always willing to help them out in hard times.

Moca Aoba

Utama

Female

Height: 158 cm (5'2") The lead guitarist of the band Afterglow and a student at Haneoka Girls' High School. Moca has a sleepy demeanor and speaks with a slow, monotone voice, but can be surprisingly sly. Although everyone in Afterglow are childhood friends, Moca is particularly close to Ran. Outside of the band, she's also friends with Lisa, whom she works part-time with at the same convenience store, as well as Saaya. Moca doesn't have anything that she's super into, but will get really worked up about people she cares about. The only interests she has continued to like over a long period of time are instruments and food, although she also loves reading and collecting manga, especially shounen and action series. Moca is playful and often teases her friends to the point of having to be told to stop. Fairly confident and sure of herself, Moca often showcases and comments on her own charms, passing off things like having breadcrumbs on her face as "part of her cuteness". At times she refers to herself in third person as "Moca-chan". Although relaxed in most cases, her worries make her transparent. She loves Yamabuki Bakery to the extent of even labeling herself as "Yamabuki Bakery's #1 fan", and tells herself to buy all the bread so she can fill up her points reward card.

Sachika Misawa

Sayo Hikawa

Utama

Female

Height: 161 cm (5'3") Sayo is a third year student at Hanasakigawa Girls' High School and the guitarist of Roselia. She is the older, more serious twin of Hina. Sayo sees being the eldest twin as more of a burden than anything. Ever since they were younger, Hina has always beated Sayo in everything; whereas Hina can master new skills with ease, Sayo requires a great deal of information before she can even begin to practice. As a result, Sayo developed a severe inferiority complex towards Hina. One of Sayo's main reasons for starting to play the guitar was because "it was something Hina wasn't doing". A serious and fussy girl, Sayo is somewhat cold in nature, even towards those she is close to. She never cuts corners or accepts shoddy workmanship, and she tends to stubbornly deny liking or being fond of certain things, such as fluffy animals or french fries. In comparison to Hina, Sayo is stiff, sharp, and very stubborn when trying to do what she believes is best for others. She is very formal, addressing everyone by their last names, except for her sister and Tomoe. Like Yukina, she is prone to make snide or rude remarks, though often these remarks do not reflect how she actually feels.

Haruka Kudou

Kokoro Tsurumaki

Utama

Female

Height: 155 cm (5'1") A happy-go-lucky student at Hanasakigawa Girls' High School and the leader and vocalist of Hello, Happy World!. Her family is ridiculously rich and lives in one of the biggest houses in the area. She's the only member of her school's astronomy club. Kokoro is an idealistic and charismatic young girl whose goal in life is to make the entire world smile. She effortlessly attracts others to her with her bright and bubbly nature, often sweeping them up into her easygoing pace. She is easily able to do and get what she wants, no matter how absurd the request, mostly thanks to "the suits": three bodyguards that follow Kokoro around that can seemingly accomplish anything she wants like magic, appearing out of nowhere when they're needed. As a sheltered rich girl, Kokoro is ignorant about certain normalities like taking the train. Kokoro is also very curious and easily amazed, charmed by new things she discovers in the world around her. Even though she has the optimism and charm of a natural leader, she appears rather scatterbrained and unable to accomplish much without others' help. Despite this, however, she has also shown hints of being something of a genius with her ability to master almost any skill instantly, and of being surprisingly perceptive to the people around her, although she rarely shows it. Kokoro doesn't seem to understand negative emotions; she's stated that she doesn't know what it feels like to be sad, and Marina once had to explain to her what it means to be stressed. Kokoro describes people who aren't happy as simply not smiling or having "forgotten their smile", and as per her dream, she does always her best to combat any kind of negative feelings.

Miku Itou

Kaoru Seta

Utama

Female

Height: 170 cm (5'7") Kaoru is a celebrity at her school and belongs to the theater department there. She is very popular with ladies, who she dubs her "little kittens". Outside of the band, she is also friends with Chisato Shirasagi.

Rinko Shirokane

Utama

Female

Height: 157 cm (5'2") Instruments: Roland FA-08 and Roland AX-Synth (Black) The student council president of Hanasakigawa Girls' High School and the last member to join Roselia as their keyboardist. She is also part of the library committee at school. Rinko is very shy, and is at first scared of the idea of performing in a live concert. She is also the band's costume designer and sews their outfits all by herself. Her hobbies are reading and playing online games, the latter through which she met her best friend, Ako. Socially awkward, Rinko is a shy and asocial girl who was initially too frightened to speak in front of others, let alone perform before them. She has a tendency to stammer when speaking, and usually keeps quiet until she feels comfortable. When she is set on or passionate about something, however, she does so with conviction, like piano or online games. Rinko also tends to get very excited about her passions, to the point where when she was explaining how Neo Fantasy Online worked to the other Roselia members, she was speaking in an alarming speed.

Ako Udagawa

Utama

Female

Height: 148 cm (4'10") Instruments: DW (Drum Workshop) Collector Series: Pure Maple five-piece drum set Ako is a student at Haneoka Girls' High School and Roselia's drummer. She admires Yukina and her older sister Tomoe, and is the best friend of Rinko, whom she calls "Rin-rin". Ako has chuunibyou tendencies, and has illusions of grandeur and magical powers. Rinko suspects this is the result from her playing online games frequently. She enjoys playing the role while keeping a realistic mentality. She is very cheery and noisy, and, despite only being two years younger than the other band members, is treated like the kid sister by the other characters due to her childlike appearance and personality. Ako often wonders how she can be a "cooler" person, and sometimes feels inadequate compared to her other band mates, especially since Yukina and Sayo occasionally ignore her or scoff at her ideas at times.

Yukina has a cold-blooded and cut-throat attitude towards reaching her goals, cutting down any obstacles in her path. She expects nothing less than perfect and takes practice very seriously. Because of this, she has no qualms with chiding or insulting someone if she feels they are underperforming. She is openly dismissive and unkind to people she deems below her standards. However, with the people she warms up to, she is not quite as nasty as usual. She also has a soft spot for cats, though she refuses to admit it.

Female

Lisa is best friends and next-door neighbors with Yukina, and they have been good friends since they were young. Outside of the band, Lisa is also friends with Moca, who is her coworker at her part-time job at the convenience store Lisa is a friendly and lively girl who appears mature and calm. Despite her appearance, Lisa acts as the mediator in tense situations. She's often credited with keeping Roselia together despite the members' contrasting personalities and disagreements at times. She often chides the others if she feels necessary, and brings balance to the group. Lisa is very caring in nature; she's able to notice when a friend is troubled and is often the first to try and help. She does her best to do what she can for others, sometimes to a fault, putting her all into helping someone regardless of her own feelings. She sometimes calls herself an "onee-san" (older sister), but the other characters have also compared her to a mother. Despite her proficient skills as a bassist, Lisa believes she is the least skilled member of Roselia. She gets sentimental and easily cries when her friends, especially Yukina, reaffirm just how much she is needed in the band or in general.

Yuki Nakashima

Ran Mitake

Utama

Female

Height: 157 cm (5'2") Instrument: Gibson Les Paul Custom Chambered Blackout Stallion Red Guitar A student at Haneoka Girls' High School and the main vocalist and rhythm guitarist of Afterglow. She is the only child of the masters of a flower arrangement school that dates back to over 100 years ago. Ran is strong-willed, hates losing, and treasures her friends and family deeply. Despite this, she founded Afterglow with her childhood friends as an attempt to rebel against her father, who wants her to inherit the school. She considers Yukina Minato somewhat of a rival. Ran has an aloof nature, which hides her loneliness from other people. Deep down, she wishes to become closer to others, but can be socially awkward and has a tendency to trip over her words. She can be easily flustered and is somewhat hot-blooded. She keeps her problems to herself and brushes off others' attempts to help, but while she may appear cold or detached, the warmer side to her is best seen in her quiet fondness towards her friends, primarily the other members of Afterglow. Ran observes the other members while remaining unobtrusive and cares for them greatly; she often asks about their well-being or laughs at their jokes, albeit subtly. She has a tendency of saying "same as always" (itsumodoori), which usually means the band has done their best. She also has a habit of leaving others "on read", only reading text messages sent to her without replying to them.

She's weak to tear-jerkers and sentimental episodes, and is fairly romantic. She is also weak to being teased. Himari enjoys comparing the different sweets she buys from convenience stores and likes making them as well. She also likes cute things like clothing and stuffed animals, but wants to be seen as "cool" by others. Her ideas are normally teased or rejected - but her bandmates try to show support in their own way.

Tomoe is a fairly relaxed person, who never says anything bad about other people or holds grudges against them. She keeps the band from falling apart. She is idolized for her cool, but mature way of handling things. Despite her mature, punk look, she is very caring towards others and is always there to lend support or a shoulder to cry on. While she is unable to understand Ako's behavior at times, she loves her sister and supports her. Tomoe is also shown to be hot-blooded and the type to rush into things head-first if she thinks someone she loves has been hurt. This has a tendency to backfire on her at times. Her parents fight often and her father sometimes "disappears for three days because 'it felt so good'" and her mother tends to break things when she's mad. She also states that her parents don't allow her to be loud at home, which explains her energetic attitude outside. As such, she uses sports as an outlet. Hagumi also has an older brother, who taught her to play the guitar a bit in the past, which made learning to play the bass easier for her. Lively and passionate for sports, Hagumi is known for her sunny disposition and energetic nature. She is cheery and can be a bit of a show-off, but she usually doesn't take things too far. She tries to convince others to indulge in her sporty hobbies at times. Despite her tomboyish personality, Hagumi has an affinity for cute things and has a complex over her boyish appearance. Female

Height: 157 cm (5'2") Misaki is a member of Hello, Happy World!. Under the "guise" of the mascot character Michelle, she is the DJ and composer of the band; as Misaki, she is the composer and Michelle's "agent". Misaki is a first-year student at Hanasakigawa Girls' High School. She began wearing the bear costume at her part-time job when she was roped into joining the band by her classmate Kokoro. Despite Misaki telling her bandmates multiple times that she and Michelle are the same person, none of them aside from Kanon believe her. Outside of the band, Misaki is friends with Rimi. Misaki is kind, reserved and considerate, however she is also known to reply sarcastically and sometimes struggle with the other girls in her band, with the exception of Kanon, whom she considers the only other reasonable member. Naturally, she ends up becoming the "straight man" of the group, scolding or commenting on the antics of the other members in immediate response. Despite her hardworking nature, especially towards Hello, Happy World!, she tends to debase her achievements and say how anyone else could've done it instead of her. For example, whenever people praise her for being able to understand Kokoro's hums and make them into songs, she'll shrug it off with a "it's nothing special". (Source: BanG Dream Wikia)

She is also very nice and has always been in love with idols. She is unselfish in her pursuits, helping others for the sake of being kind. Deep down, however, she is a sensitive girl who suffers from a complex stemming from her desire to be noticed. Adding to this, she does not wear her disguise outside because she wants to get noticed, and even looks up constantly what people think of her on the internet. She gets worked up easily and tends to cry a lot, thus her improvisation skills are poor.

But around musical equipment, she becomes ecstatic and is impossible to stop when talking about her beloved hobby. Maya admires Eve for her looks and is also good friends with her, and Aya as well for her dedication on becoming a great idol. Because of her awkward nature, she is also often teased by Hina (unintentionally most of the time) and gently scolded by Chisato because of her unique "Huhehe" laugh. (Source: BanG Dream Wikia)

Hina Hikawa

Utama

Female

Height: 156 cm (5'1") Hina is a second-year student at Haneoka Girls' High School and is the guitarist of PastelPalettes. She is the younger, more bright-eyed twin of Sayo. A natural genius with an impeccable memory, Hina can acquire and master new skills very quickly, often even with just one attempt. She is very cheerful and carefree, but her relaxed mindset also makes her unable to understand other people's emotions, and as such doesn't sometimes notice if she's insulting them. With this, Hina is also very candid, always being honest and sure of both herself and her actions, though at times she ends up being more blunt than honest. Unlike Sayo, who dislikes being a twin, Hina seems to embrace it. She is very supportive of her sister and loves her regardless of how she treats her, but they often get into arguments due to their conflicting personalities. To add to this Hina wants to do most things together with her, but this ultimately has lead to Sayo quitting most of her hobbies as she felt like Hina was just copying her and then always did it better than her, thus feeding into her inferiority complex more.

Outside of the band, she is also Kanon and Kaoru's childhood friend; the former she met in middle school, and the latter a lot earlier through their parents. As she has been in the entertainment industry for a long time, Chisato is quite a realist when it comes to it and disliked Aya's idealistic view of it at first. She gets slightly embarrassed by people bringing up her past and past works as a child actress. She also dislikes when everyone thinks that she can do anything. (Source: BanG Dream! Wikia, edited)

Before joining Pastel Palettes, she was a model at the same agency, and had some skill in playing the piano. She finds Japanese culture exciting, often citing bushido, the code of Japanese warriors. She is a bright girl who tackles everything standing in her path full throttle. She is enthusiastic and chipper, eager to learn all that she can about Japan. At times her thought process can be strange, and when going on about Bushido and other samurai-related things, which she takes quite seriously, she comes off as humorous. Her actions also tend to confuse Aya and the people around her. Eve is easygoing, polite and loves hugging people. Though she has some misconceptions about Japan and sometimes misunderstands what other people say, Eve always tries her best to learn.
