Black★Rock Shooter

Utama

Female

Height: 163 cm Black★Rock Shooter is the titular character and main protagonist of many projects, including the anime OVA Black★Rock Shooter, the RPG of the same name, the anime series and the manga Black★Rock Shooter Innocent Soul. She was an original concept created by huke who participated in the release of the song "Black★Rock Shooter" by supercell. She is voiced by Kana Hanazawa in the OVA and anime and by Maaya Sakamoto in the PSP game. Her weapons consist of a black-hilted katana later named as Black Blade and a large gun called ★rock Cannon. Black★Rock Shooter is given a personality in the OVA: she is depicted as a calm and collected girl, not speaking at all until her confrontation with Mato. She also does not focus on anything except the most important thing she has to do at the moment. She is shown to be very skilled in fighting. Black★Rock Shooter in the anime seems to be more brutal than any other B★RS incarnation.

Strength

Utama

Female

Height: 158 cm Strength is Yuu's darken persona in the other world. She wears long black boots similar to Black Rock Shooter's, black spandex and a white flamed embroidered hooded scarf. She has a vertebra like tail with white hair. Her main weapons are her two large black "Ogre Fists" that she wears over her arms and are as big as she is. In the TV series, she gained emotions when she established a connection with Yuu just as she was about to die following a fight with Black Rock Shooter. When Yuu preferred to live in her world than reality, Strength was forced to switch bodies with Yuu, although she doesn't cast a shadow. She inserted false memories of herself into Mato to make it seem like they've been friends for a long time, though she eventually came to like Mato herself. She has the ability to put herself or others into a comatose state, sending their mind into the body of their darken persona. At the series conclusion, she disappears into the wind, returning Yuu to her original body, although she revives later on to continue fighting.

Black★Gold Saw

Utama

Original Concept Black Gold Saw is a girl with red eyes and long black hair. A red flame shoots out from her right eye. She has a pair of curved black horns whose color turns to red as it reaches the tip. Like Dead Master, Black Gold Saw also has skeletal claws. Her outfit is similar to Black★Rock Shooter's except for the design of her jacket and her bikini top; her jacket extends into a worn-out cape which is dyed red at the end. Her weapon of choice is a large sword with golden blade and a black saw-edge on its reverse side. It has a long handle with a skull-like object on top and a hilt shaped like a crescent; its name is King Saw. Black★Rock Shooter (OVA) In the OVA, her jacket is shorter, and she also wears armoured boots with pointed crescent designs. Like all of the "other selves," her eyes have a circular pattern in them. Notably, Black Gold Saw's red flame is not present at all during her appearance. Black★Rock Shooter (Anime) Her jacket seems to bear a little bit of resemblance to MEFE's clothing. Her sleeve have a red belt attached to it along with two white line running across just above the belt's line. Her jacket is tied together with a white ribbon. Her shorts is a little bit longer and had more details to it. Her belt is also different. Unlike the OVA design, she had no black thigh-high socks although her grieves are pretty much the same, except for some changes, notably at the base of the foot. Her claws are very much the same as that of BRSB now, but, it's still more skeletal. Her King Saw has a new look as well, with a very much shorter blade and a sawblade on the hilt. Abilities Black Gold Saw has demonstrated many abilities in the 2012 anime, more than she ever did in the OVA. She may have some time or reality-altering abilities in terms of the Otherworld, as she managed to stop the destruction of Chariot's world as if she had stopped its time and had seemingly cut reality itself when driving Dead Master into the ground. She also has the ability to create beings, as she creates the strange hooded figures from a watering can. This watering can is also able to sprinkle a mirror-like surface on the ground that shows Saya's memories. She is also able to see things far away using her giant eyes as shown in Episode 1 and Episode 4. She can also summon a massive King Saw out of the ground.

Mato Kuroi

Utama

Female

Height: 155 cm Mato takes an interest in and speaks to a girl she sees the first day, Yomi Takanashi. They became best friends. Black★Rock Shooter (OVA): Mato is an innocent and naive first year student in middle school. Outwardly, she is outgoing and excitable, but she is very awkward around people she does not know. Internally, she is sensitive and meek, but eventually learns to gain courage. Black★Rock Shooter (Anime): Mato retains most of her appearance from the OVA, aside from wearing a different, non-seifuku school uniform. The patch of bandage on her right knee is gone, though she now has a bandaid on her right thigh. She is fond of philosophical musings, and often will vaguely say something that she sees (for instance, remarking "blooming" when seeing a patch of flowers) to no one in particular. Saya also describes her as the kind of person who has, until now, never hated anyone or have anyone hate her. Her favorite food is said to be curry. She is very fond of the book Li'l Bird Li'l Bird Colorful Colors and reads it repeatedly.

Yomi Takanashi

Utama

Female

Height: 160 cm Yomi is a gentle, good-natured girl who speaks politely and calmly; she is very mature for her age. Her name literally means "No hawks, where little birds play." She is supposedly a member of a well-to-do family, staying for some time in Germany before moving to Mato's neighborhood. She also revealed that her frequent moving from one place to another has caused her to develop a sort of distant attitude towards others. However, she is prone to having very dark feelings of loneliness and jealousy; she tends to keep these to herself. In the 2012 anime, Yomi's personality is somewhat different in that while she is still calm, reserved, and polite, she is also extremely aloof to the point where she is unwilling to make friends. Part of this is her attachment to Kagari Izuriha, both due to the fact that she blames herself for Kagari's injury and because catering to all of Kagari's demands was initially easier than coping with the mental trauma. Unlike her OVA incarnation, she is more interested in things like art and bracelet making. Like Mato, she likes the book Li'l Bird Colorful Colors.

Chariot

Pendukung

She is the "other self" of Kagari Izuriha. Chariot is a pale skinned female wearing a dress with black and white tones. She wears a large spiked crown on her head, as well as claw-like gloves. Most notable is her choice of footwear: she wears black, metallic thighhighs with black and yellow wheels that can be used as cutting weapons. Like all of the "other selves" in the anime, her yellow eyes have a circular pattern in them. Her weapons of choice are a Sword and Shield. Chariot has been shown capable of using the wheels attached to her legs as a weapon against Black★Rock Shooter, as well as a giant spider monster to ride on. She is said to have a cold gaze, as it feels as if she is piercing into your heart. Chariot is shown to be rather brutal to Black★Rock Shooter when she enters her area in the Otherworld, and when she tries to save Dead Master from Chariot. Chariot also shows some sadistic joy in brutally beating Black★Rock Shooter, which may reflect on how Kagari hates Mato for trying to be friends with Yomi in the real world. Black★Rock Shooter (Anime) Yuu's hair is more combed down, and not as choppy as it was in the anime. She also now wears an orange hairclip on her left side, and wears a school uniform different from her OVA appearance. Similar to her OVA incarnation, she is excitable and perky; she is also eager to tease Mato often. Unlike her OVA incarnation, however, she is perfectly comfortable with the idea of Mato having other friends, and in fact actively teases Mato about her friendship with "her Tiny Bird". She is fond of skipping classes in favor of drinking coffee at the consultation room. Mato notes that she is trying to be mature for some reason, and indeed she takes concern over Mato's well-being. Kagari Izuriha

Pendukung

Yomi's agoraphobic childhood friend, often out of touch with people around her due to years of living as a shut-in following a car accident that left her paraplegic and wheelchair-bound. She's also quite eccentric, often expressing her emotions through her doll Mary and seemingly having a higher tolerance for morbid topics, visuals and events than most. Additionally, she exhibits a penchant for theatrics, expressing her initial distaste towards Mato's presence by making her play the role of a fat and dirty doll, as well as giving her macaroons in "dirty" colors meant to represent things she finds unpleasant, like chaos or asphalt. Her counterpart in the other world appears to be Chariot.
