After this, he got a call about being an idol, which he acts kind of surprised about but goes to the auditions anyway. Height: 175 cm Hometown: Kanagawa Touma Amagase is the leader of the 961 Production male idol group Jupiter, along with Shouta Mitarai and Hokuto Ijuuin. Touma is grumpy, serious, and over competitive. He does not like it when people get in his way or when he has to face weak opponents. As a solo idol, he is rather strong. He insults the idols from 765 Production, calling them "weak" and "low-leveled." He even thinks they are playing childish "pretend" games with each other. Touma is the only one who doesn't know the main reason why President Kuroi hated Takagi and 765 Production so much. (That was because when he asked Kuroi himself, Kuroi told him a lie.) Touma works hard and enjoys being an idol but does not wish to use dirty tricks to become the top idol. He enjoys collecting figures from robot anime and is skilled when it comes to cooking, to the point where Soichiro Shinonome asks if he would consider being a chef.

Hometown: Tokyo, Japan Height: 162 cm Ryou is the cousin of Ritsuko Akizuki, who has been a recurring character in the series. He is calm, soft, and all-around a cool and collected boy. Deeply worried by his feminine image and hoping to become more popular with the girls, Ryou has been considering becoming an idol for a long time, but when he visits the 765 Production office to discuss this idea with his cousin Ritsuko, she appears skeptical towards his plans. However, she is prepared to introduce him to Manami Okamoto, a manager at 876 Production. Before he joined the club and became an idol, he used to take a variety of part-time jobs such as a security guard and a construction site worker. While he's not strong academically, he's good at speaking English as he communicates with the foreigners without hesitation during events. He's also skilled with doing hair and make-up.

Yuusuke Shirai

Jirou Yamashita

Pendukung

Male · Umur 30 · Gol. darah O

Hometown: Ishikawa Height: 185 cm Jirou is a 30 year old ex-science teacher. He represents the "S" for Science in S.E.M. He resigned after hearing about Michio Hazama’s dream to become an idol. While he was hesitant on leaving, he perked up to the idea once it was mentioned how much money they could possibly make. Jirou is very lax and kind of a slob. He often uses the school’s science equipment to brew his coffee, which Michio has to scold him for. When him, Rui, and Michio first began auditioning for becoming idols and failed many times, he was going to give up until Michio admitted to him that he felt bad for dragging him and Rui Maita into his own dream of becoming an idol. Jirou comments that even if they had stayed teachers, they wouldn’t be living that extravagantly. Despite his appearance and claims that he only cares about getting rich, he does have a few soft spots. He usually gets bashful once someone notices. He is shown to be quite bad with handling his appearance, but Michio comments that when he cleans up and stands up straight, he looks quite dashing.

Yoshiki Nakajima

Minori Watanabe

Pendukung

Male · Umur 31 · Gol. darah AB

Hometown: Ibaraki Height: 178 cm Minori is a former Flower Shop Clerk who is a longtime fan of idols, especially Ryuuguu Komachi and Jupiter. He's outwardly calm and friendly, but he is a former delinquent and can scold or even threaten someone with a calm look. He also uses flowers as comparisons when talking about other people. He can sew and cook and dotes on Pierre so much, that he's considered the "mom" of Beit. Even after becoming an idol, he still acts like an otaku, for example; fawning over the other idols and collecting all their DVDs, as if he wasn't an idol himself. With his idol knowledge, he often gives Kyoji and Pierre tips on how to look cute and/or cool. He often mentions fandom terms, like when he fawns over Kyoji's "gap", for example. Minori, as a fan of idols himself, understands what fans want to see.

Tomohito Takatsuka

Kyouji Takajou

Pendukung

Male · Umur 20

Hometown: Tokyo Height: 182 cm Kyouji is a stoic former convenience store clerk from a well-established family, which consists of his father, his older brother, his younger brother, and Kyouji himself. After failing multiple times at the entrance exam for his desired college, a harsh argument broke out between Kyouji and his father (and later his older brother) ended with Kyouji packing his suitcase and leaving home. He vowed that he'll become a successful man in his life without his family's name. Kyouji is clumsy with words, but he has good intentions and genuinely loves the other members of Beit. When they shower him with compliments, he gets embarrassed and doesn’t know what to say back, but he returns those feelings wholeheartedly and will voice them back if the atmosphere is right. Kyouji detests his family due to them neglecting and verbally abusing him. The only exception is his younger brother, Hotaru, who he still loves and cares for. None of the Beit members have ideal family situations, so they’ve become each others main pillars of support: their own 'Beit family'. Kyouji can’t manage to say no to either Minori or Pierre. Minori knows how to cheer him up whenever Kyouji has moments of self-doubt, and Kyouji knows that Minori relies on him to take care of the things he can’t do. Kyouji loves household appliances.

Yuuichirou Umehara

Souichirou Shinonome

Pendukung

Male · Umur 21 · Gol. darah B

Hometown: Osaka Height: 177 cm Soichirou is the responsible pastry chef of Café Parade. He is very punctual and polite towards others, and serves as the level-headed member of the unit. He is usually generous and considerate, often showing his gratitude towards others by offering sweets he has made, but can be somewhat terrifying when genuinely angry. Although Soichirou speaks quietly and politely and has a buttoned-up appearance, he also has a couple of rather suggestive lines, perhaps indicating he has a flirty side as well. Soichirou is very good at making many types of pastries, as shown when he was able to to quickly craft sweets for another cafe that was overrun with customers. Although he grew up in a Japanese pastry-making family, he is unable to eat or look at anko (red bean paste), making it impossible for him to inherit his family job (as anko is very common in Japanese sweets). However, he does not mind this, as it allowed him to have an opportunity to join Café Parade and develop more Western-style sweets.

Kouhei Amasaki

Seiji Shingen

Pendukung

Male · Umur 31 · Gol. darah B

Hometown: Kumamoto Height: 185 cm Shingen’s ex-job was a Self-Defense Forces member. Though his past is rather vague, it's clear that he lost a close friend on the job and in his honor, he always wears his friend's dog tags in his casual attire. Shingen quits his job and became an idol in hope to make people smile and possibly have more of a cheerful lighthearted job compared to his old one. He is a bit sensitive whenever the topic is brought up and does not want anyone to worry about it, so he refrains from discussing it. Shingen acts like a father figure to Hideo and Ryu. He cares a lot about their safety and goals and is always there to support them. He can be a bit shy, especially when it comes to romance. He acts very nervous around women and is more comfortable with men. But, he does have a young niece, Amane, who he is very passionate about. He treats her as if she was his daughter. Shingen’s signature trait is his strength and his size. He uses his strength to protect Hideo and Ryu. For example, he catches a falling beam during a performance but his size is occasionally an issue. He has a hard time fitting into his costumes, even when they're specially made. It’s to the point where Ryu and Hideo need to remind him not to work out as much or the Producer will get angry.

Natsuki is very attached to Jun ever since childhood when he admired Jun for his piano playing. He feels guilty for an accident in their childhood that made Jun unable to play piano, and believes that it was his fault. He only joined High x Joker because Jun expressed interest in it, and continued as an idol to stay by Jun's side and hear his music.

Hiroshi Watanabe

Pierre

Pendukung

Male · Umur 15 · Gol. darah O

Height: 155 cm Pierre Bichelberger is a young foreign prince who worked as a mascot in an amusement park handing out balloons. It was a job well suited to him, as mascots aren't required to speak (Pierre's Japanese is less than perfect) but are still able to make people happy. He loves to make people smile, and decided a career change to an idol was a natural next step with Minori's help. The two of them afterwards recruited Kyoji to join the unit, and the trio of Beit was born. Pierre came to Japan because of a throne dispute between his two older brothers which resulted from the sickness of his father. This made it unsafe for Pierre to stay in the country, and thus he moved to Japan under the guise of studying. It is never made clear what his home country is. Despite the conflict in his family, Pierre still retains his innocent and optimistic personality as well as his desire to give people happy smiles.

Saki Mizushima

Hometown: Chiba Height: 160 cm Lover of all things cute, Saki is the cute crossdressing maid who wants to express his true self. He is cheerful and upbeat, always friendly to others. Saki is assertive and doesn’t let rude people just get their way. His catchphrase is ‘papi’, which is used as an adverb, adjective, or just tacked onto the end of a sentence in a bright, high-tension manner. Saki’s best friend is Makio Uzuki who he calls 'Roll'. Saki doesn’t care about what others think of his gender, because being happy with himself is what’s most important. He considers his crossdressing self to be his true self, refusing to show his face without makeup, as it would cause issues with his family and classmates who do not know of his idol or waiter(ess) work. He looks up to Ryo Akizuki, who was a former crossdresser working at 876 Production before defecting to 315 Production as a fully fledged male idol. He is very familiar with girly things like makeup, keeping up with brands, and likes to go out shopping. Because his father is strict about him having to be masculine, he keeps his idol persona a secret from his schoolmates and family. Often, people ask him about his gender, but to him, it doesn’t matter because being himself, being loved, and doing his best is what’s most important. Generally, he doesn't believe gender should restrict him of things so he doesn’t mind working in an all-male talent agency as long as he can wear cute outfits.

Male · Umur 23 · Gol. darah B

Hometown: Yokosuka, Kanagawa Height: 170 cm Rui is an upbeat, quirky, and cheerful type of guy. His job was previously an English teacher, which is why he often uses English words in his speech. He also represents the "E" for English in S.E.M. With his English proficiency, he hopes to get worldwide attention and become an international idol. According to him, the idol life is way more exciting and fitting for him, and having such a big dream is a wonderful thing. Being close friends with Hokuto throughout college and watching him perform at his school’s cultural festival really sparks his motivation. When Michio invites him to join in becoming an idol, he quickly accepts. During S.E.M’s rough start on becoming an idol, Rui stays positive and tries to get the others too as well.

He believes Takeru, who he calls Shortie, is the one person he cannot lose to and constantly tries to make competition with him. Of course, Rei was skeptical at first, his unit member Kei Tsuzuki's off personality adding to his initial distrust. However, over time he began to enjoy his job more. During the practice of a children’s music program, he noticed a boy unable to sing. While the children took a break, Rei offered to sing along with the kid, making the kid very happy. Seeing the kid now smiling and able to sing with the rest, Rei thought to himself how glad he was that he became an idol. Because Kei tends to zone out and wander off on his own, it is up to Rei to look after him. Still, Rei does not see Kei as a liability, and he highly appreciates Kei’s support and respects his talent. Rei believes that alongside him that he can keep going as an idol. Rei is socially awkward, not having had many friends in the past. He argues he does not know how to talk with people his age or even just what to talk about. He is a very energetic boy who loves to sing and loves his high school buddies, so rather than going their separate ways after graduation, Shiki intends to mastermind their debut as an idol unit. He also tends to add "honkii" or "mega" to any descriptor he uses, and ends all of his sentences with す（ssu). He refers the Producer as "Producer-chan" and his buddies by their given name in katakana plus "cchi", though he also refers Hayato Akiyama as "Hayato Senpai". He's not the best at academics, so he studies with his buddies a few days before exams. In the anime, it's revealed that Shiki thinks that he isn't good at anything except singing, and in middle school, he would spend all of his free time at karaoke. However upon meeting HighxJoker at his first year entrance ceremony in high school, and seeing them perform, he became inspired to do something with his youth and begged Hayato to let him join the band. Male · Umur 32 · Gol. darah AB

Hometown: Awaji Island Height: 178 cm Michio is a former math teacher. He's resolved himself to guiding the youth and invited Rui and Jiro to quit their jobs and become idols for this purpose. Thus began the formation of S.E.M. Michio has a personality so serious, it doesn't slip even during performances, not even a little. He's an ardent perfectionist who repeats his exercises as many times as perfection needs. Though he can be strict at times with himself and others, Michio is, above all, full of affection and enthusiasm for the youths. He sometimes makes mathematical references in his speech, though others around him tend to not understand them. In general, he tackles any problem from a logical viewpoint, often organizing his ideas on white boards and drawing up graphs and other mathematical representations to aid him in coming to a solution or in presenting his ideas. It is often Jiro who has to stop Michio from becoming too carried away in his drawn-out explanations. He is close with his family, as he sometimes receives gifts from his parents from his hometown, and visits them during long vacations. His younger sister, when visiting her brother, requests he guides her around the cities. While he notes it would be nice to perform in Awaji Island, he believes he is unprepared as an idol to return to his hometown as is.

He often has to force his fellow unit members, especially Shiki Iseya and Haruna Wakazato, to study and quit fooling around in order for them to remain idols. Jun prides himself in working hard and doing his best until success is reached, but is still attempting to break out of his shell and identify his own appeals. He gets embarrassed easily and has an even shorter temper than usual when this happens. Natsuki often mentions that Jun has changed greatly as a person since becoming an idol and expresses that he likes this 'new Jun' as well. This 'new Jun' refers to Jun's more open, daring personality that he had gained through joining the club. He is more open to trying new things and taking risks; he also no longer sees becoming an idol as a burden and has learned to enjoy and appreciate the experience.

However, he learns to trust in others more and rely on them after becoming an idol. Both he and Yusuke call the Producer "coach" and their fans "supporters". While Kyosuke is the more mature sibling, he can be just as playful as his brother and will go along with his games and mischief. The two of them also like going to convenience stores.
